Is there a way to have our customers in our store have to pay at the time of checkout without changing our ebay auctions as well? We are having quite a problem with customers not paying!

Hello Bruce,

Well, the way that the Vendio Store Checkout works is you are taken to pay immediately, but that just doesn't stop a buyer from backing out after creating an order. That said, we are going to add options to sellers that will allow you to send checkout reminders which should help.

Regards,

Ed

Hi Digital Bruce,
We too, have the same problem. We lose approximately 30-40% of our Vendio Store Sales to customers who find it to complicated to pay for their items. When they are checking out, ALL customers want to pay via a secure credit card checkout. I've asked, suggested, pleaded, and complained on this forum many times for Vendio to incorporate PayPal Payment Pro or similar solution. To date I have never received a suitable response from Vendio. They either ignore my post(s) or suggest Verisign. Verisign is simply too expensive for most small stores. I can only assume Vendio is locked into some sort of exclusive agreement with Verisign. ALL other store sites give you the capability to integrate the PayPal Shopping Cart (or similar solution).
To stop losing eBay sales to non payers, we have eliminated our eBay items from our Vendio Store. Vendio is a great site for managing eBay auctions but until they do more with their stores, they will never generate a sufficient sales completion rate. We are currently creating a stand alone (i.e. not through Vendio) online store that incorporates the PayPal Shopping Cart. While we only have 25% of our items completed for it, our completed sale rate is 100%. Customers pay immediately or the sale is not completed. This also saves time by not having to file for fee refunds (another topic for another time). Good Luck and if you find any solutions please post them.

Hello datakyar,

We do have plans to add additional credit card processing services (such as Authorize.net) to Vendio Stores in the future.

Also note that you can accept PayPal Payflow Pro as a payment method in Vendio, if you would like to accept credit cards but not use Verisign. Please note that Payflow Pro is currently in beta testing, and you will need to contact PayPal for more information on setting up a Payflow Pro account with them. Once you have a Payflow Pro account, you can set it up globally in Vendio by going to "My Account" --> "Global Preferences". Then scroll down to the "Payment Types" section. Click on "Sign Up With Verisign" under "Credit Card Processing Methods". Enter "Paypal" as the "Partner ID". Enter your Payflow Pro ID in the "VeriSign ID" box, and your Payflow Pro password in the "Password" box. Then click "Save".

Regards,
Nathan

Hi and thank you for your response. PayPal PayFlow Pro is great, if you are a LARGE seller and is being specifically designed as such. Again, not an economically suitable solution for small/medium sized sellers in Vendio Stores. I hate to be a cheerleader for PayPal, but anytime you have a service (such as PayPal Payments Pro) where you do not need a Gateway and a Merchant Bank, etc, it is simply the way to go. People pay via credit card (without being a member of PayPal), they handle ALL the information, and you get the funds directly into your PayPal account. What could be easier? No hassle with gateways, etc. (all of which charge fees on top of fees).

My question for Vendio is simple. When you have PayPal, the 8,000,000 lb gorilla of online payments with virtually ALL Vendio users familiar with them, why not make it job #1 to incorporate their Payments Pro into the Vendio Stores Checkout? Adding Authorize.net, Fred's Credit Card Service, Joe's Cards R Us, etc. is really just spinning your wheels with products that all mimic Verisign in fees and hassle.

I look forward to your response.

Hello,

In addition to other credit card processing methods (such as Authorize.net) we are planning on adding PayPal Payments Pro as an option in the future.

Happy Holidays,
Nathan

Hi Nathan,
Thank you for your response. This is news that should be trumpeted from the highest tree tops! If there is a list for that improvement please add my name (and 99.9% of Vendio Store users names) to the list. You are the first CSR to say that PayPal Payments Pro is going to be added to Vendio Stores.

As "in the future" includes next week, month, year, decade, century, etc, any wild guess as to what "in the future" we are talking about?

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

I know there is no way to stop a customer from backing out but if there was a way that they would have to automatically pay through paypal or with a credit card upon check out or contact us to cancel the order would be extremely helpful. It does sound like you are trying to help us out and I thank you for your response.

BUT THE ABOVE IS A LONG TIME ISSUE AND IS WHY I HAVENT COMMITED TO A STORE WITH YOU.I WOULD LIKE A SPECIFIC ANSWER PRO OR CON, SO I CAN DECIDE TO STAY WITH YOU OR LEAVE TO ANOTHER SITE. THANKS AND TO END ON A POSITIVE NOTE, AUCTION MANAGER PRO HAS BEEN A GREAT TOOL I RECOMEND IT IF YOU DO A FAIR AMOUNT OF AUCTIONS.

Hello,

No ETA on PayPal Payments Pro, but we are working with them on the PayFlowPro V2.0 which is the same monthly fee as Website Payments Pro ($20) and allows your buyers to pay with a credit card directly in your checkout system.

digitalbruce - since they would enter their credit cards and have the payment processed directly in the Vendio checkout system, rather than having to leave and submit payment elsewhere, this could cut down on a lot of buyers "forgetting" to pay later in the process.

You would be signing up for PayFlowPro, but using your PayPal account as the payment gateway, rather than having your own merchant account elsewhere.

If your interested in enrolling in this program at PayPal call Kyle Leal - 408-967-5865 for more information on getting setup with this system.

Regards,
Christopher

Is BidPay a possible option as a payment method for a Vendio store purchase? The new version of BidPay works great for ebay payments.
