I just opened my store, and my first two sales were not paid for. I am used to eBay where I can send an invoice with a link to a checkout page.
I am a little confused about what the customer sees when initially attempting to check out. Is there a link to a PayPal invoice with all the information filled in or are they directed to a generic PayPal page where they have to fill in the info?
Vendio CS suggested that I send emails to the buyers asking them to go directly to PayPal and enter the Vendio item number into PayPal when they make the payment.
This seems awkward and my concern is that I will be losing sales. I am curious to know what other Vendio Store sellers might suggest.
Thanks in advance for giving up your valuable time in order to help me.

If you do not accept online credit payment, customer may not continue to complete the transaction. If customers want to use PayPal, they will wheather go to eBay but Vendio does not accept Google Checkout (yet). There is a group of people who don't trust PayPal, Money Order, or Credit Card offline.
For example, 90% of my Vendio Stores customers are paying with credit card online. When I first opened my Vendio Stores, I cannot accept credit card online. The incomplete Vendio Store transactions are about 80%. Now, it drop down to less than 5% after my online Credit Card process is up and running.

Thanks for the info inaisle, but now I'm really concerned.
Am I understanding you correctly that when a customer makes a purchase from my Vendio store they are NOT given a checkout option to link directly to PayPal and complete payment?
So what are my options to accept credit cards on my Vendio store? Payflow seems like overkill for a small business. Can I go with something simpler like PayPal Website Payments?

wfutons,
I would add an item to your Vendio store and purchase it yourself, so your more familiar with the process.
Your buyers that choose to pay via PayPal are linked directly to the PayPal website, only requiring them to login to complete the payment.
Note that PayPal is in beta for a program that uses the payflowpro gateway and just processes your payments in the PayPal system. Its the same price as the website payments pro, and you can use it in the Vendio checkout.
Please email us directly at [email protected] to get information on setting up this service.

Whatever you have selected in your payment preference, it will show on the vendio store checkout. PayPal PayFlowPro only cost you $20 a month + transaction fee.
