A customer started out in my vendio store purchasing items and wanted to add a couple that I have on ebay. He writes:

Note:thanks! fyi, for some reason I couldn't add your items that are currently on eBay. Might be a Vendio shortcoming.

*************
Just an FYI. I think most of the time people start out in ebay and then add vendio items, I guess they can't go the other way.

Is that true?

Hello,

That is true, you cannot purchase live eBay auctions from within the Vendio storefront. Clicking on a link within your Vendio storefront to a live eBay auction will take you to the eBay website where you will have to place your bid or place a Buy It Now.

The buyer can however add items from your Vendio storefront to their order while checking out for items that they have already won on eBay.

Christopher

I noticed that you mention ebay auctions. Does the same hold true for items in an ebay store? Is it both auctions and store items? Or, only auction items?

Hello,

The same is true for all eBay listings in this case (eBay auction and store listings).

Nathan

why cant the buyer do both? You can manually adjust payment for any discount through vendio check out. Dont lose the sale just because the computer wants to do two seperate checkouts.

I agree. I had thought that with using redirect at checkout, my ebay items would be put in the same cart with my Vendio store items, which were previously selected.

Hello,

"I agree. I had thought that with using redirect at checkout, my ebay items would be put in the same cart with my Vendio store items, which were previously selected."

If the buyer never left the Vendio storefront, and only opened a seperate window in order to go to eBay and place a bid on an item, then sure - they can checkout for their eBay purchase and have those items still in their shopping cart.

Its more likely however that the buyer would essentially leave the Vendio storefront completely, only to return later after going to the eBay website and purchasing an item there. Even if you come back to the Vendio store to checkout for your eBay purchase, the items you had added to your shopping cart would no longer appear. (depending on how long ago you left the page and the buyers browser/cookie settings.)

Regards,
Christopher
