Hello Jen,

There will be a little HTML required, and we need to check with engineering that this will work on the hosted stores system for sure, but I think so.
You can create the image you want to use using a free service like this: http://www.freefavicon.com/index.php

or this: http://www.htmlkit.com/services/favicon/

Once the image is created it will need to be hosted and then have HTML written into the main homepage of the store to make it appear in address bars.

Are you using your own domain name with the store system, or the Vendio hosted store URL?

Regards,
Chris

Hello Jen,

This is definitely possible to do. First create the icon using one of the two free services shown above.
Next you will need to upload this *'ico' file to a web server where you can host the file.

Once you have the icon created and saved on a webserver, go to customize your store and click the 'Advanced' menu at the top to enable the advanced mode.
With advanced mode enabled, click in the header at the top and choose 'edit file source.'

Look near the top of the source code for a line that looks like this:
"<div class="Header">"

After this line you can place the code for your hosted ICO file, like this:
<link rel="shortcut icon" href="http://yourwebserverwhereyouriconis.com/favicon.ico">

Save the changes and publish and you will then see your icon in the address bar at the top of the page.

The only tricky part really will be uploading the file to your own webserver, so let us know if you have any trouble doing so or if you don't have a place to store files on a server.

Regards,
Chris

Hi Chris,
I tried your instructions and got nothing still.
This is the code;
<link rel="shortcut icon" herf="http://photos.nimbus-pevid.com/images/A_8/3/2/2/72238/favicon_deba6.ico">

Is there something wrong here?
Thanks, Jen

When I edited the store, it showed the following was saved:

<link rel="icon" type="image/gif" href="http://photos.nimbus-pevid.com/images/A_8/3/2/2/72238/animated_favicon1_e4021.gif">

I removed this line and replaced it with the following:
"<link rel="shortcut icon" herf="http://photos.nimbus-pevid.com/images/A_8/3/2/2/72238/favicon_deba6.ico">"

While this is the correct code, you won't see this work when you are using the Vendio storefront URL and not a hosted store URL where you have your own domain name.
When you are using the Vendio subdomain URL, the webpage is grabbing the Vendio icon from the main page since your store is on a subdirectory of the main page.

When you are able to register a domain of your own and get at least the most minimal of storage space with it, you will not only have a cleaner looking and more custom webstore but will also be able to display the 'ico' file you have created.

Regards,
Chris
