I have been rearraging and adding categories and then when I went to save I got an error message...I've looked, but can't find anywhere that says if there's a limit to the number of categories I'm allowed to create. Is there?
And if so, is there some way to know how many I currently have so I can know how many I must delete or can add?
Are you editing the categories from the Store Editor page, or the Store Categories page? Also, about how many categories are you entering prior to attempting to save? Do you still get the error message, for example, if you save after adding each category?

I was editing using store categories. I would go 1/2-1 hr & save (have been doing major revamping since yesterday, last night, wee hours, morn...).
Well I just went to look at my store itself and it appears the changes I made showed up, even though I got the error message (several times) after saving. So whew, hours of work were not lost.
I then tried saving after changing one item, and didn't get the error, and then tried after changing about 7 items, and didn't get error. I don't recall if I deleted or just moved things around.
If I get more errors, I'll let you know.
Fyi: message was a little box with a huge x in a big red circle.
