hi:
I currently sell varied items in my store however I plan to add photography as a strong sale point. I suggest the following things:

1- would love that Vendio adds some sort of GIF protection to cover the pictures at least, the rest of the options are welcome but that one is just what really protects images.
2-an option for the customer to chose among different sizes of prints or frames, now this would be awesome just like on smugmug or zenfolio which I was considering joining however I would like to drive traffic to only one place; my website.

That said, I hope the vendio team considers this petition since there are many users who sell prints already here, and you guys support it too.

Hello,

Variations, where a customer can choose color/size/options is something we do plan on offering support for in the future, though no ETA is yet available as this is a very large project to tie it into the various venues.

True image protection can only be done one way, using a watermark, which Vendio does support for your uploaded images. You can customize every aspect of the watermark to get the look that best matches your products/images. Those right-click disable javascript tricks don't work to stop people from stealing images by themselves, as people who take others pictures know how to quite easily defeat those technologies.

Chris

hi Chris:

Thank you for your prompt answer, I was wondering isn't it easy for people to remove watermarks with photoshop? I really hope you add these features soon it would be such a plus for Vendio!

Hello,

The easiest images to steal are the ones that just use those javascript codes, as once you get past that easily defeated script you have a nice clean image that you don't have to clean up.

Watermarks can be removed, but it takes a lot more effort and time depending on the placement, style and how opaque you make the images.

It's more of a question of effort really, as any image can be stolen if you put enough time and energy into it. Watermarking just forces someone to decide if they want to spend all the time and energy needed to defeat it where Javascript methods can be bypassed in a few seconds and your done.

Regards,
Chris
