I scrubbed through the postings but found no real mention of this, so here goes:
How can I/is there a way to setup a button/link/field on my store's main page to allow customers to sign up for my mailing list without them having to make a purchase? (Which I could also put on my facebook, personal emails, etc...). I experimented with the buyer appreciation link but got as far as an invalid URL error when I tried to submit.
While you could manually add a message to your Store to have a customer contact you to sign up for your mailing list, it is unfortunately not possible to automate this without the customer going through the checkout process.
