I just imported about 40 products with a csv file. Everything seems find except the images were not imported. I wonder if it is because the url doesn't end with .jpg?

sample image url:
http://photos.absolutyogi.com/i.ashx?gallery=391190&mid=13244024&mt=Photo&standardsize=original

Hello,

That is correct, as unfortunately the CSV export is unable to import the images when being displayed via an ASHX handler - Vs just having the file available at that specific location on it's own (which would give it a regular extension at the end like *.jpg or *.gif.)

Chris

changed the image to ending with .jpg but still don't import.

Hello,

Sorry for the delay. We did receive the CSV file at the end of the day on Friday and passed it along to the engineers to check into further.
As soon as we hear back from them on a possible cause we will contact you directly with how to resolve.

Regards,
Chris

I tried to import new items. Each item has 3 images. 2 of them were already imported into vendio and I got the url from within vendio. 1 was from external url but with jpg ending and I can see the image when I enter url in browser. But none of the images from external site were uploaded when I import the items. I want to know if vendio is unable to import image from external site?

example of image url: http://app.onlinephotofiler.com/Img1/A_4/2/3/9/109324/7c80ec45681845a296ab5fc59dd60ec8.jpg

Hello,

It certainly can import images from an external source as we have dozens of imports done daily with images being pulled from third party locations. Sometimes if there is unusual formatting of either the images or with how the images are fed upon visiting the URL the importer can fail to bring the image over.

If you *just* ran the import just check back in 30 minutes or so as the image part of the import process can take a bit longer than the actual importing of the text data.

Hello,

There does appear to be something different about how the images are being fed when going to this URL you show above. Trying to simply go to onlinephotofiler.com hangs for a long time and eventually redirects into a Godaddy site building page, as though the images are not residing directly on the onlinephotofiler.com but using an APP to feed the file to that location when a call is made, which doesn't work the same as if the file resided directly at that location.

If you can send me a copy of that image file as an attachment I can upload it to a standard web server for you so you can test it further to be sure the import image option is working correctly.

Regards,
Chris

when I put the url in a web browser, it comes up quickly for me. so when you say the image is "fed", I assume it is different then? I can send you the image, but I don't understand how this issue can be solved. are you saying I need to upload all the images to vendio and get the image url from there?

I tried to do another test import with an image that is already uploaded to vendio but the image still did not get imported.
url for image:
http://imagehost.vendio.com/a/35050610/view/arizonastate.jpg

any idea why? other images on the server I have been able to import in the past.

Hello,

Please forward us a copy of the .csv import file that you are using, so that we can take a look.

Nathan
