Hello,
You may edit which profile is being used (as well as some other fields) in bulk using the "Find & Replace" button that is at the top of the "Items" --> "My Items" page.

that would work if those fields weren't blank. But since the fields are blank on all but 5 of the 7500 items.....it can't be changed in bulk.
I'm even more concerned with description than profiles at thsi time.
Why is it that I can import from csv file but I can't export my database to a csv file to be edited? Is there a way to export the items to csv?

Hello,
It does not matter whether the fields are blank or not in order to use the "Find & Replace" button to edit the profiles in bulk. For example, use a find term of "Find items where Price: Sale Price is greater than 0.00" and then use the replace terms to replace the profile with the profile that you would like. Any item that you are selling for over $0.00 will then have the new profile that you have selected.
Unfortunately, it is not possible to bulk edit the descriptions or export the items to a .csv file.

well....it matters unfortunately....becasue it will only edit the 5 items that have something in that field for me. As of now...I have to do it one by one...which isn't cost effective.
It doesn't make sense to have an import option and not an export option....Is there a paid program that would allow me to export the info?

Hello,
What about the quantity available field? That exists by default for all items.
FIND - quantity equal to zero, or greater than one, depending on how they were imported - then replace __X__ and apply to all items.
There is no paid program that would enable an export feature, it simply isn't available at this time.

I'm trying to use this Find & Replace feature to reassign all the shipping profiles. When I set the "Find items where" field to "Shipping Profile Is" there is no where to specify what shipping profile I want to find, there is only the option to specify what to change the profile to.
Even if I choose "apply to all items" or select the items I need changed and try to apply changes to selected only, I can't specify what profiles I want changed, therefor I have to go into each item and change profiles.

Hello,
It sounds like your doing it correctly. You should be able to find one profile by name and then separately replace it with another if you need.
If you continue to have trouble with that field, try an alternate browser to see if that works for you. If your using FireFox, try Internet Explorer, or Vise Versa (same if your using Chrome, Safari, or Opera.)

I have used the csv file to update existsing items with sucess, including description. You may want to try one first and then do the rest if it works for you.
