I uploaded items with csv file to the website but some of the images exceed the maximum size limit (that caused missing image for my items). So I downloaded the image zip file to my computer, resized them, then uploaded all of them to the website.
Since there are many items have missing images, I don't want to manually select image for every single product page. Can I upload the csv file with modified Image1 cell in csv to the website location where stores all my image files?

I guess I found the image hosting URL for Vendio store! It is listed on the upper-right corner on every image page selected in "My Images".
I modified and uploaded my csv file again. However, some items are still missing image. I am not sure what if upload mode will make any difference. Please advise any specific area I need to look into.

Hello Jason,
Using the update mode with the .csv import should work as long as you are entering the new image into the image field. Could you please let us know one of the SKU numbers that you are having trouble with, and also exactly what you entered into the image field when doing a .csv update?

Hi Nathan,
Thanks for your reply. I have deleted all the items with trouble images so it should be okay for now. However, I do have another question for the Update Mode.
When we use update mode, is SKUs mandatory for existing items? If SKUs are blank for existing items, will the program put all the items as new items? Will this create douplicate records/items in the database?
From a different post I learned that we can not export items from database to a csv file. If we have 500+ items in the database, does that mean we need to manually check and type the SKUs into csv file?

Hello Jason,
That is correct that the SKU field is mandatory when updating existing items, as it is the way that the existing items are matched to the .csv update file. If you leave the SKU field blank in the .csv import file, then a random SKU will automatically be assigned (and create a new item).
Unfortunately, that is correct that you would need to manually enter the SKUs into the update file. However, please keep in mind that you can then keep that file as a template for future updates. Also, if you are creating the original items via .csv file, and entering in SKUs at that time, you can get the SKUs from that file as well.

Hi Nathan,
Thanks for your quick response! You guys are awesome.
I am bit confused about the last few sentences on your reply. You suggested that I should keep the csv file as template and reuse it later when all the SKUs are manually filled, correct?
As a store owner, it would be great to have a function to export store items into csv file so users don't need to update 500+ items manually by hand. It saves times and time is money I am a software engineer myself and I know exporting data from SQL database is fairly easy. Please make suggestion to engineering team to add the function in near future if possible. It would be a great help for all of us.
Another question for the import mode. Does the import mode acts as "append" so that all the items in csv file appends to existing records/items in the database?

Hello Jason,
I am suggesting that if you keep the original import template, then it will already have all of your SKUs (which can then be copied and used in a future import update file).
While we might add an export option at some point in the future, I unfortunately do not have any eta or additional information available at this time.
There are two different .csv import options. One updates existing items, and this option will match the items by SKU, and then update any fields that you have filled in within the .csv template. The other option is a basic import, which will create a completely new inventory item.
