I currently have my payment options set to Direct Credit Card Payment through my gateway. I want to add Paypal as an option, so the buyers will have a choice to pay with Credit Cards or Paypal.

Is it possible to bulk edit this to show both payment options? I have tried a few times but it only accepts one option from the quick edit mode.

I want to make this change because buyers are not seeing or clicking the round button (at the bottom of the checkout page) that says Pay by Credit Card, and if there are more options it might be easier to see.

If they do not click the button at the bottom and then click continue it just accepts the order with no payment. I have had many buyers contact me wondering what Credit Card they paid with.

Hello,

Yes, you can make them both available no problem. Go to the Items tab and select Profiles. Click to edit the profiles and then edit your credit card profile. Simply add another payment method here and make it your PayPal email address/account.

This will then allow buyers to choose whichever option they want during checkout. You don't want another payment profile with another option, you just want to add another payment method to your existing profile.

Chris

Thanks Chris. I have been able to do this successfully. I still have a problem though. Is there any way to make Credit Card as the default setting? It shows Paypal and now a buyer had to call me because when she went to pay it redirected her to Paypal and she had a hard time getting back to the original order, so she just left that one and created a new order and paid with a credit card.

I asked about this last fall because I had a lot of manual checkouts where the buyer missed clicking the payment type button, and I think Nathan said he would have it looked at where the system would not complete the order until the buyer choose a payment method. Now it defaults to Paypal, and I do not want it setup this way. If not I can just remove Paypal as an option, but if I do that there is no default and if the buyer does not click the payment method button, it successfully creates and order confirmation, but no payment options and the buyers are getting confused and they bounce out. I have been able to save some because the buyer already filled out the Billing and shipping info and there responses back to me was they did not see any payment options. It is very small right at the bottom and this is where the problem rests.

Thanks for your efforts.

Thomas

Hello,

No, there is no option available to set one payment method as a default over another unfortunately. You can of course choose whichever you want in the payment section of the checkout process, but if you confirm your order and then click to 'pay now' with it set as PayPal still - then it will redirect you over to PayPal to complete the transaction.

We do have an open ticket to change the behavior of the credit card payment option in checkout so confirming the order isn't possible until your credit card details on file. While I don't have an ETA on this project, rest assured during the next store overhaul we will address this issue.

Chris

Thanks Chris. I understand. Just an update. About half of my orders are still having this issue, so adding a second payment option really has not helped the buyers make a successful payment, and we still get order confirmations without any payment.

Also another thing that I would like you to consider is the Packing Slip/Invoice. If it is possible could that form be aligned properly so that when a buyer purchases more than 4 items the 5th item does not get cut off half way between pages? Ideally it shou;ld show 4 items for page one (1) and 5 items for each additional page. Everything would align properly and present itself is a much better light. Here is a recnt order number of mine to show what I am talking about.
Order #2020517234

Thanks Thomas

Hello Thomas,

I was able to see the problem with the packing slip/invoice, and I have asked our engineers to take a look. We will let you know once we hear back from them on this.

Regards,
Nathan
