it's really annoying to get an email saying an item is sold when it is only placed in a cart & not paid for. that should be fixed asap bc i'm sure most people do not check paypal before shipping

Same complaint here. Plus I don't think customers appreciate the brief panic of being told their PayPal account has been charged when they didn't even provide information to complete payment.

Thank you for writing in. The order confirmation email is sent out only after a Buyer enters the Shipping/ Billing address and clicks the "Pay Now" button. And this point the Checkout on Vendio is considered complete and the order as confirmed. And hence the "order confirmation email" is sent to the buyer with a copy marked to you the seller.
This email is a confirmation of the order and a confirmation that the item has been paid for. We recommend that sellers check the Orders> Sold items screen to confirm that the order has been paid for before you ship item out.
And this point of the order the buyer is prompted to "Log in to your account to complete the purchase" and does it does not say that the PayPal account has been charged.
Hope, this helps please feel free to reply if you have any more questions.

Actually, the confirmation e-mail does say that their PayPal has been charged when it hasn't. There are three columns in the order confirmation email: Shipping address, billing address, and payment. In the payment column, it lists payment type (in this case, PayPal), followed by the amount charged, even if payment wasn't completed. Hence why we are led to believe orders are paid for when they're not. The confirmation e-mail *assumes* that the buyer will complete payment, but people sometimes change their minds during checkout.

Thank you for your reply. You could edit the content of the Order confirmation email to remove the "Amount Charged" section. Or even add a disclaimer to it stating that the Order is actually confirmed once the item is paid for and when the buyer receives the Payment receipt.
To edit your Order confirmation email:
Login to your Vendio account and go to Items> Preferences
Then click on Customize
This will pop up the "Preview Customize Email Notification for Store Sales" window
And the content of the email can be customized to suit you.
You can also disable these from getting sent out from this page.
Hope this helps, please feel free to reply if you have any more questions.
