Growing up, I had a small Christmas tree made out of a foam cone covered with thin foil strips. The foil strips were about the width of tinsel. Imagine a piece of foil about 2 inches wide, cut into thin strips about 3/4 of the way up all around. This was wrapped around the cone shape in layers.
Each layer was curled, like a flip. The whole thing was perhaps 18" tall. It was stored in a cardboard cone shaped box. I think there was a red ball on top of the tree.
I've seen one in an antique shop, but it was in bad shape. If anyone comes across one of these on eBay or elsewhere, I would appreciate if you would let me know at [email protected]
