HI, fellow Auctionwatchers! I'm new to this site, and enjoying it very much! I buy and sell (and yes, collect) ORIGINAL Red-Striped Wheel HOT WHEELS Cars made by MATTEL TOYS, 1967-1977. If you have one or one thousand, please contact me! I also do the same with ORIGINAL JOHNNY LIGHTNING Cars made by TOPPER TOYS 1969-1971. AS for the Hot Wheels, be careful! the date (if any) on the bottom of the car isn't necessarilly when it was made, most of the time it's the COPYRIGHT date for that casting (When the die was first made). There are HOT WHEELS hanging on store racks right now that say "1969" on the bottom. So e-mail me and I'll ask the necessary questions for each piece so that we can determine when it was actually made.
As for the JOHNNY LIGHTNING Cars, if the TOPPER TOYS logo appears ANYWHERE on the bottom, it's original. Period. Thanks to all responders, I can be e-mailed at [email protected]
I LOOK FORWARD TO ALL RESPONSES! 9-25-99

Hi, Gianino! It's me gg99octane again (the original poster of this topic) It sounds to me that what you have there are "RRrumblers" made by Mattel 1970-73. And yes, RRrumblers is spelled that way.
They do have value, but like most collectibles, some are rarer than others, some colors are rarer than others, and be REAL careful that they don't have damage. RRrumblers break very easilly at the handlebars, tires split and come off or have flat spots from sitting, even the rider may not be the correct one for that bike! Many RRrumblers also came with a set of stabilizer wheels, some 4 small clear wheels on a plastic piece that snapped in on the bottom. Often missing.
Another possibility is that you have "CHOPCYCLES".
The way to determine this is if they have a rechargable (LONG SINCE NOT WORKING) battery inside, and a 1/8 hole on one side somewhere for the "JUICE MACHINE" to plug in and recharge the Bike. (Just like a SIZZLER Hot Wheel, if you're farmiliar with them).
If you are interrested in selling them, I'd be interrested to hear a more detailed description of what you've got! If all you're looking for is to find out it's value, I'd be happy to offer an educated opinion. RETAIL values for both types of bikes listed here rang from $15 each for played-with but UNDAMAGED "commons", and up to the low hundreds for the rarest ones. Keep up this dialogue, you've got my attention!
