I was wondering if anyone has worked with dropshippers and could give me some ideas to get started and what to expect. I do plan to sell at some of the auctions, but I am also developing a website for sales. I noticed someone earlier had mentioned http://www.1dropship-depot.com/Since you have to pay for the directories I'd kinda like to know how up-to-date the lists are (I bought some elsewhere that are older than I am) and how useful they are.
I know this is long, but I'm just getting started and really need some advice.
TIA
Joanna

Once you do decide to sign up with a drop shipper find out a realistic arrival time for product you order.

I have bought a few things over the last couple months at auctions that turned out to be SMC stuff.

It took over 2 weeks for my stuff to arrive.

The auctioneer I bought it from made no mentioned it was ordered from a drop shipper. So they let me assume that it was being shipped from their home and something they already had in their posession.

So at the 2 week after payment point I'm annoyed and asking where my stuff is.........THEN and only THEN they tell me they had ordered it from somewhere else and they were shipping it.

They lost a repeat customer and they had some nice stuff and I had some of their other items on my watchlist taken off.

All they had to do was tell me my stuff would arrive in 2-3 weeks.

I personally don't think auctions should be mail order catalog fullfilment centers......that's just me.

I know these dropshippers like Apple Gifts and SMC have nice stuff. And the auctioneers who sell it do well, not my style of selling but kudos to those that make it work.

But again the ONLY I'll say to you is this:

If you sign up with one let your customers know a REALISTIC arrival time for their goods.
