What works best - free websites, or websites you have to pay for? I have only recently thought about having a web site & there are so many offers of free ones I thought they probably aren't worth alot. If free ones are good, who has the best & the most variety to choose from. Thank you!

Hi! I have an Auctionwatch storefront and have found it to be useful so far. Also, tripod is a free provider and is very easy to set up with their site builder. Just look under Tripod on any search engine.

The only and biggest problem with free web hosting is the ads. Most either pop up when you enter the site or are centered in the middle (top) of your pages. For the cost these days, having your own is worth it.

Check out www.bizland.com I have had my site there for 2 years now. They have Excellent support and services. You can get a "Business card" type page for Free, or as I do I pay $9.95 per month, They even give you your own domain for 1 year free.

The thing with the freebie sites is that many of them DO NOT allow you to post the pictures they host on other sites........
Meaning you can't use them to host auction pics.
xoom and angelfire are the worst and they will replace your pic with their logo.
It really is worth it to pay for webhosting.
Then that space is your property.
So go get a domain name and find yourself a decent webhost, many have basic plans for $9.95 a month for 100 megs.
Don't rely on anyone except yourself. The freebie sites or picture banks can change on a moments notice and leave you scrambling to move your files and start all over.
