I used to have a tin wind up gas station. I can't remember the brand name such as Texaco but I'll try to describe it as best as I can.
The gas station itself had a key you used to wind, located on the back of the gas station. There was a red plastic button or ball type button on the top of the roof that you could press down to stop the action of the gas station. There was also a little car you could wind up using the same key.
One the front of the station was a small lever connected to a little man, when the car went to the front of the station, the lever brought the man out, and a small tab would come up from the bottom which would make the car stop there for a few seconds. There must have been a timing mechanism, because the tab would drop down, and the car would go around again.
Connected to the side of the station was a thin plastic strap that you looped around in a circle on the floor, which you clipped to the other side of the station. The car would run around the inside of this strap.
If anyone remembers this toy, the brand name of it, or knows where I could find one, I'd appreciate the info.
