my mother worked at Rookwood in the jr art department. in addition to touching up production pieces she was allowed to design one of her own.
i am searching for plates and/or bowls that would have deer or horses on the edges. they would be plain glazed bisque with the animals running around the edge in brown or possibly black. the animals are not in any great detail and they always appeared a little plump when she would sketch them out for me. the legs of the animals would be very thin. although the piece would be signed as rookwood--it would not have her signature at all. those artist in the jr dept were not allowed to sign the work.
this is for sentimental value only, my mom passed away this past september. although i have many pieces of her art--i have yet to see these pieces.
any pottery lovers that have seen anything like this? my goal is to pick up a piece or two for my brother and our children.
