My buyers already whinned about the links and confusing buttons, now it's worse they have to go thru several pages of garbage, and then they think that they paid by paypal when they didn't do a thing. it really blows a buyers mind when they see to complete address fields to fill out most aren't smart enough to see the tiny little box that says click if shipping address is same as billing address. I've been here thru thick and thin burt this is the worst yet kind of like ebay's checkout nightmare REMEMBER THAT.

NOW I just changed my WBN to include every thing a buyer needs to complete deal and I'll just spend double the time entering the address in myself SO (I'm getting to Your part) you won't see as much money from me BECAUSE I won't have the time to list moroe items.

Hows that for progress

For the most part I really like the changes as well, but I do agree with the orginal poster on a couple of points. Fortunately all it will take to fix these are minor adjustments.

The part I agree with is the checkout process should not have been expanded. I too have got complaints from a couple of my customers who feel that there is too much involved in the checkout process.

In particular, the billing/ship to address. I realize that some people (particularlly those who accept credit cards) need to know both address. The average eBay seller like myself really has no need for anything other than the shipping address. Please make it so we can choose if we want both billing and shipping to be entered, or just one. The shear number of fields that pop up on the checkout form is enough to make sceptical or lazy people turn away and not fill out the form at all, which means I need to do it and that does cut into the efficiency of using a program like this.

Secondly, I don't like the the way the intial "login with your AW password", or "click here if you are a new user" thing is displayed to customers once they first click the link in the WBN. You must realize that most people that click the WNB link are only doing so because they have to to complete the auction. The way this screen is worded it appears that if you don't have an AW account then you need to make one just to checkout. This again turns my customers away because they are presented with the possibility of signing up for something and they don't even know what it is. Please change it so it is clear to our customers that you don't need to be an AW member to complete an eBay auction from us.

Since the new post sale options have been added the number of my customers who do not complete the checkout step has at least doubled for me. This obviously tells me that something about the checkout process doesn't appeal to them. I think it is is too many fields to fill out and/or the "login" screen is something they don't want to do. It would be much better if it was all one screen, and had a minimal amount of fields to fill out.

And yes, the original poster is right. Your average internet user doesn't see that checkout to duplicate their address info below.

It's difficult to get people to enter their names and addresses once. Asking them to do it twice is a killer.

My buyers are complaining too...many think they have paid with PayPal but they haven't...more work for me to have to explain the process...I like the way PSM shows the buyers address when you click on #2 but I don't like the fact that you still have to go to "view response" to see any comments they make...my feelings are "the simpler the better"...let's streamline the process, not make more work for all of us...

karalun, you don't have to go anywhere to see the buyer's notes!

They are now at the bottom of the Post Sale fulfillment checklist - to the left of where you would put seller notes.

It would seem to me the logical place to display buyer notes/comments would be on the packing slip/invoice. That way any special instructions are displayed on the printout that I actually use to pull my items and ship them.

On a positive note, I am glad to see they addressed a concern I had from a post a while back. THANK YOU for putting the shipping carrier on the printed packing list. It is natural for a wave of complaints to come right after any change is made. Although during my time as a customer of AuctionWatch I am glad to see customer service is here in the message boards taking our suggestions and complaints and addressing them quickly. This is my third auction software system I have used, but the first one where customer feedback actually makes it back to the people who can change and fix it. I have seen many other suggestions from other people make it into software. Two-way communication is a great thing! Keep up the good work.
