From Actionwatch to Vendio not sure the name change ia a big improvement. It says nothing about what you do. How do you pronounce it anyway?

trivial?
I doooo like the new color scheme!
I DO NOT LIKE all the re-directs! Folks, please note you have to go & change all yer store URLs (in emails, etc), etc, or your buyers are sent to a re-direct screen!

I sure hope that AW didn't pay too much money for the advice as to choice of new name. Why do we now think that Vendio is a more approriate name? It most certainly does not tell us anything about the services provided by the former Auction Watchio.

I read all the reasons why you changed your name, but I think it is a waste of time and money. I agree with a preveious comment that it really doesn't tell anybody what you do. I suppose if you are from another country, you'll know that it means "to sell", but I think you're trying mostly to market to English-speaking people, and we have no idea what it means. I think AuctionWatch was a catchy name, easy to remember and told people you deal in the auction arena. It was easy to shorten it to AW and everybody knew what you were saying. What do we shorten it to now? VD?

Actually, the name sounds similar to "Vario" another web based services provider.

There is a latin word Vendito also Vendere which means to sell. The word Vendio appears to be Spainish or Italian, which is fine if you live in those countries.
Don't you love words that fit almost any place!
Hi don't touch me I have Vendio. Wanta smoke some Vendio. My doc's got me on Vendio for my butt zits. My crap didn't sell on eBay so I'm gonna vendio it! Lets open a bottle of cheap Vendio and get bombed. My next car is going to be a Vendio. I'm wearing an original Vendio!!
C.C. you must have known you were going to get heat over this.
The name does grow on you, but I will never ever say it out loud.

Oh boy... I have to sit on my hands to keep from LMAO. lol
I stepped in here to make positive comments and wound up grinning and laughing. Got to love it!
POSITIVE SIDE: Looks and feels great. Vendio... sounds like I need to drop a quarter in a slot somewhere, but it's catchy! (Please don't tell me listing prices will go up to a quarter each! - I'll have to Leavio if it does!)
NEUTRAL SIDE: Having to change my URL redirects - but progress always creates change - for the better or the worser(io).
NEGATIVE SIDE: (File under lessons learned by VD..VO..V-05...whatever):
FAILURE TO NOTIFY YOUR "VALUED" CUSTOMERS OF THE UPCOMING NAME AND IMPROVEMENT CHANGES - That's Called Bad Business -
-------------
With that I have a deep concern; one that would probably be "sprung" on us with the same amount of notification the name change came with - none.
CONCERN: Is this "more" than a cosmetic look and name change? - Has AW sold out and can we as customers expect price increases as Vendio moves forward?
Things that make you go hmmmmm.....
Thoughts to ponder...
(I know, the heat's on and I'm stirring the pot - but hey, that's what this thread is for since VD (formerly AW) Customer Service Reps DO NOT monitor this thread per the Community Guidelines) ... right. LOL

Well, we should all see our fees increase soon, no doubt about that! New name, New look, New FEES!
Was a shock to log on to AuctionWatch and saw new name and colors! Bad move on AW not to send a "form letter" email to its customers! No announcements posted either on 4/1/02 that it was coming! BAD MOVE! And how do you say this VEN....

There is NO Way our beloved AW would change and not tell us, ahead of time. This MUST be an April Fool's Joke, or they have been hacked. With all the auction providers popping up, beating AW prices, that would be sheer stoopity ( with 2 big O'S ). Let's hope the price structure makes it through April so we can shop around........

Having read this thread I feel compeled to reply...remember the song (when you were a kid) B I N G O and BINGO was his name o. The same person that wrote that tune came up with this V E N D I O and VENDIO is it's name o.
This is what happens when you put too many creative minds in one room....stuuuupid.
Yes, price increases are on the horizon, I have to change all of my listings, just got more business cards with an outdated web address....better get outta here, get some whiteout and attack my listings....

I'm looking for 55 gallon drums of whiteout from a wholesaler - so I can manufacture and sell one gallon size whiteout bottles with speed siphon press-to-apply, quick-dry application.
I want to sell these on my Vendio Store. Figure they would go like hotcakes. I figure high volume sellers could use this to remove unwanted logos from their sales invoices.

What a surprise! I logged onto AuctionWatch yesterday and there was this thing called Vendio! Why were we long-time customers not even given a courtesy e-mail notifying us of the change? I suspect some MBAs, who have never sold a thing by auction on the internet, got together and thought they were being progressive or clever. Or AuctionWatch sold out.
I will be shopping around in the next month for different auction listing software and picture hosting site.
I DON'T LIKE THE NEW VENDIO!

I still believe that Vendio sounds similar to Verio. This could make a great law school trademark research project. The similar sounding names could lead to confusion and claims of dilution of the Verio mark.

Hi there,
I just wanted to jump in and reassure you that at this time there is no plan to increase our fees in the forseeable future. Our sellers enjoy some of the lowest fees in the industry, and quite frankly, it's a competitive edge we do not want to give up.
Thanks,
Diana

I have been highly amused by the name change . It's an interesting name/word , I don't think it has much "recognition" factor but may appeal to people who speak a language other than English. For our Spanish speaking friends it will sound out as BENDIO and to German sellers it will . of course , be WENDIO . I haven't decided which name I am going to use but I am leaning heavily to Wendio - it has such a Peter Panesque quality!

In reading down thru the thread I read that Diane (administrator) states not to worry about a fee increase - I formerly paid 10 cents for the 1st pic and 5 cents for subsequent pics for each auction - NOW it is 10 cents for all pictures +++
I am not sure what I paid to list each auction before but I am sure it was less than the 20 cents for each auction Vendio wants now. I joined AW a long time ago when everything was free - I think I will be phasing outtta here - it is a shame to leave because I like how all the pictures are listed straight down - not the little boxes on the side that have to be clicked, plus the pics pop up quick

I originally joined when everything was free too.. but you know what... no business can "give away the store"... would you?
I might "gripe" a bunch about things but I can recognize a bargain when I see one.
When AW moved from free to charging I grumbled like most did and then realized that if I went to any other "free" service, then I would subsequently get what I paid for.
I'm sure if there are any increases it will be due to R&D that will eventually enhance how Vendio operates for US or just to offset the cost of business. Now... if someone has the secret of how to operate a business with NO outgoing costs then they've got something!

Thought I had the wrong web addy when I was directed to the "newly" renamed site. My first reaction was, "what the heck is this all about?" I've been with AW since 1999, and find it very disturbing and unprofessional that a change would be made without the courtesy of an email to all their customers. One can only wonder if they think so little of notifying their customers in advance of a name change, what other "surprises" could be down the pike????

This is typical of a dot.com .... Leave everyone out to dry....
I don't like the new name.... It sounds like the name for a space robot .. " I AM VENDIO, take me to your leader..."
Why weren't you soliciting names from your customers?? And make a "prize" like 6 months free listings to the winner who came up with the new name??
If I sat down for a half-hour, I'm sure I could come up with at least four names that weren't so lame...
AND PULEEZE ... GET RID OF THE ANNOYING BANNER ADS. I once used an ad blocker periodically, but why the heck should we continue to pay for Ad-Ware ???? It's back to the ad blocker permanently for me.... I just bet your advertsers are going to love hearing that...
