Open letter to AW:
Although over the years, I have been mostly a lurker, I have posted when something comes up that I have knowledge of. This will be my last post on this site.
I'm very disappointed in AW's recent decision to lay off the moderators and
require a credit card to post on the message boards. Have you considered volunteer moderators at all?
I seriously doubt more than half of the Ebay
board users will comply and I guess I'll put my hat in the ring with that bunch on principle. I'm a well established Ebay seller since Oct of 1997 with over 4,000 feedbacks and I don't believe in giving out my personal information (Especially credit card info) unless absolutely necessary. I don't think it's necessary in this case either. There has to be some alternative! Couldn't there be a grandfather clause for current long-time users?
Will the reduction in bandwidth be enough to make you guys more financially viable? The board traffic is going to go way downhill.
It's too bad because this was by far - THE BEST - Ebay message board site out there. I cannot begin to tell you how much I have learned here over the past couple of years.
I can understand the financial situation. I would have gladly paid the fees for the paying services had they been just a little more reasonable. I was forced to switch from my beloved AW to another equal auction launching/post auction management service the costs me $24.95 per month max flat rate vs. the $66+ it would cost me here. Your services, software and your system are the best I will admit, but I can't justify an extra 40 bucks a month with my low dollar auctions.
This is my favorite internet site and I'm really going to miss reading the boards on this site every day. I think the moderators did a tremendously great job compared too all other message boards that I have ever frequented.

Come on over and be Ebay sellers! All you gotta do is find your niche and you can make a living out of it. (Just not in my catagories...OK?) You should have a hand up on the competition with all you've read here over the years!
