I decided to give Customer Manager a try. There are some serious issues with this service, which may cause me to cancel.

1)No “You Have Mail” type notification.

With my “real” email account I am notified each time I have a new email. I can quickly stop what ever I am doing and respond to my (potential) bidders questions. The faster I can respond, the more likely the eBayer will bid on MY item and not move on to some other auction. Why can’t you send a copy or at least some sort of notification to our “real email” account as you do when a user leaves a response to a post on the Vendio message board?

2)Poor File/Folder System

I DO NOT like having hunt for old emails by clicking on “History”. I want to be able to transfer any and all emails to the folder of my choice. As far as I can see, there is no way to transfer an email from “SENT” to the appropriate folder (i.e. floor lamp, desk lamp). The way it is now, it looks as if I will have to email myself a copy of every sent message so that I can file it in the appropriate folder.

Please let me know if these issues are coming in the near future.

Hi Cherrytreegirls,

Regarding step 1 -- this is in the works. Please continue to check the announcements forum for updates on new features as we will post there when it is available.

Regarding step 2 -- is there a specific reason that you want to put those messages into one folder? Is it for organizational purposes? There is an available workaround -- go to the Responses Manager and select the Responses that you are interested
in and hit the "View" button. This will give you a list of the messages. The
message view will include both the original message and the processed
message (i.e. incoming and outgoing).

Regards,

Sonya

Yes Sonya, I want to organize my emails the way I want.
I realize I can "view" the messages by going through a PIA workaround. That's not the point.
First I have to find the message I need to view. Not all emails come from customers with anything at all in the subject line. I have had emails simply contain an address or "UPS". These are search words that are not easily recalled when trying to locate a message. I had a heck of a time locating a message with nothing in the subject line - only the buyers choice of shipping in the body of the email(which I could not recall)
It just makes it too darn hard to locate an email once you have responded to it.
PLEASE fix this. All it would take is a way to transfer an email to a folder instead of it automaticly goint to SENT.

Hello,

At the moment you can't transfer an email that has been responded to a folder. The 'Sent' folder seems to be the best option for you right now. We are working on getting it fixed so it displays more than just the past 15 days, so you don't have to hunt for messages through the history like you originally indicated.

Regards,

Sonya

Hi Sonya,
I was not aware that my messages would rest in the SENT folder for only 15 days!!
It’s hard enough to find an email with the information I need as it is. Now, I see that if I keep “Customer Manager” I will HAVE to email copies of every correspondence to myself or I’ll never be able to locate some messages.

I cannot stress enough how important it is for me to be able to file each and every message in the folder of my choice. There is no way I can remember every bidders question and the corresponding answer.

Please, Please tell me if the ability to file sent emails into the folder of MY choice is something VD is addressing. If VD does not see this as an important issue, I need to cancel this service ASAP before email hell gets any deeper.

Hello Debra,

You can actually choose a longer timeframe for the Sent Messages folder. Please click on the Preferences link in the Customer Manager left navigation bar and then, in the "Customer Manager Settings" page, change the entry for Sent Messages Timeframe inside the Display Settings section to 30 or 60 days.

Thanks,

Any word on the "You Got Mail" type feature or being able to sort sent mail into a folder?
