Surprisingly, very well. Even during Christmas Eve and day. I started some sales on the 26th. It seems I am on a roll. Don't want to jinx my luck.

Hello everyone!! Our sales are exploding the last two weeks. Been really slow for a while but our EBay and even our Yahoo auctions have really taken off. We also have a retail store and boy is it dead in here. We average maybe if we are lucky three people a day coming into our store. We sell sports collectibles. We noticed all of our customers are now internet based for their buying habits. But business in general is up from last year thanks to Ebay and Yahoo.

Thanks you all, I was just wondering what the market was doing - helps to evaluate how test items are actually appealing to buyers...
At the moment I am only testing on Yahoo.

Mine clearly have a lot to do with what I list.
Preowned, lower cost stuff on YAHOO. New, gift type items and more expensive electronics on eBay.
YAHOO almost stopped for me in late Nov. eBay kicked into high gear and I was selling 4 or 5 of the same item per week with only one listing at any given time per item using the BIN option. I also made use of the free listing day to put higher priced ($2.00 listing fee) items all over the site with good results that closed both as BIN and regular auctions yesterday.
YAHOO started up again on Dec 21st and has been steady. I think people finished their online gift buying and started buying for themselves again.
I took a break from individual listings on eBay after FLD, don't have a single auction running as of today and don't seem to want to get back to work.
A few days off remind me how much I regret not having been born rich and that just being handsome and smart but having to work for a living is a real pain in the butt.
I think YAHOO is the site of the future and Y2K1 is the year it will really start to shine. Now if I can just find the motivation to get a couple hundred more listings posted I can share in the fun.

Bidding and veiws have been up on both ebay and yahoo for me since mid octber and incressing through December.
Them more I have listed the more I seem to sell any bid for me on my yahoo sales would be an incress but I actually have got 1 to 3 a week in many weeks since thanksgiveing.
I started changeing my shipping terms mid november to a fixed flat rate that reflected new shipping rates with no trouble sale still improveing.
After christmas sales and over the hoilday week so far have been well over what I ever exspected and has kept me busier packing and listing then I have ever been in anyone month.
Have been on company vaction since the 22nd
of cecember from my full time job I started listing heavey two weeks before the vacation started poured all my effort in to auction listing packing and all includeing packing Items christmas eve and christmas after the dust cleared and takeing time for kids and family.
And to Be honest most my item end at $3 to $12 usually and if this week alone is an exsample of what a full time effort can bring
if wouldnt suport a whole family but could replace one persons fulltime job easily

I have noticed an increase in sales, and page views. Strangely, more now than during the Christmas "rush", such as it was. I guess it goes to show, you never know when sales will peak, or fall. Even the retailers were surprised.
Happy New Year jwpc!, and everyone else!
This is also a very special day for me and my wife, other than New Years eve. It is also our 34th wedding anniversary. We got married on New Years eve, so I would remember it.

If it means anything; we are going into our 6th in on line sales, we have always found the time from January through April more productive than November through December. Since we sell a variety of items, I might presume this would hold true for most sellers.

Happy Anniversary Charlie and Wife, 34 years!!! A rare thing today. You are Very, Very, Wise for remembering even if it took 33 years to do so.=)
Sales were better then expected, considering the elections kept many of us watching the news instead of surfing. We did have alot of last minute bidders that took me by surprise.
Overall not as good as last year. We did not buy gifts online either this year, the malls seemed to have better offerings, availability, etc.
Maybe a new mode is being set,Or all the malls are going bankrupt like MonkeyWards just announced.
Even the Postal service, who I'm sure did record sales, were basically rudely slow, you would think they would lower the rates instead of raising them since online services are putting the stamp back to work.
Maybe we should vote to re-instate the Pony Express.
