Why is it that it takes so long for people to pay for their auction items on Yahoo?I have still not been paid for auctions in November! How many times can you ask for money?I am sure sellers have bills to pay of their own, thats why they sell.Has anyone else experienced this?

Sorry to hear that....
I have never had 1 problem in 10 months
on yahoo auctions.
Every winner has paid on time and no deadbeats. 70 closed winning auctions with 40 unique winners.

If they haven't paid since November, I would relist and neg em. I have a bunch of deadbeats on Yahoo I'm about neg and move on.
I send the original email and one other, maybe two if they responded at all, then I get on with other things. If they don't pay after the first two mails, they most likely aren't going to.
Just the way I do things, your mileage may vary.

sorry to hear you're having a deadbeat problem...
but rest assured, not all the buyers are deadbeats, as I can attest...
I bought something at auction recently, paid immediately and now await delivery...
just neg 'em and move on...
yeah, it's a pain...
yeah, it's SUCKS...
just don't let the disappointment color your selling mood...
GOOD LUCK!

If it's been since November, it looks bleak.

On the up side, you are not out any listing fees, YET

If you are selling kid stuff you can expect
a lot of this. The little darlings are a right pain.

I'm usually pretty patient with my customers. But even I would have given up on people who haven't paid since november. I would certainly relist and move on.

Amazingly I had a bidder's money order show up 12/29, postmarked 11/17. I usually receive West coast payments 4-6 days from postmark. She wrote me around 11/25 'have you mailed my item?', I answered 'no payment has been received'. I think we both had a lot of suspicion that the other party was lying but it was the fault of USPS. Of course that's rare.

My winner email says 'please let me know when you mail payment'. If I haven't heard from them within 10 days I send a reminder. Nothing accusatory or threatening, just a simple statement that I can't hold the item if they don't get in touch within a few days. At that point they either let me know payment was sent, will be sent or they decided not to buy. The few I don't hear from I cancel & relist 4 days after the second email.
