This site I am about ready to give is new and they are just starting but thought you would find it interesting to know that they will take your yahoo and ebay ratings and show them also so you don't start out totally new. Also they don't have a big selection of topics yet but if you want one added all you have to do is email them and they will add it asap I was told one person asked for a new topic and got it in an hour.

I have registured there and I am going to start using it and see where it goes. I know that if enough of us start advertising your auctions going there it might get bigger.

By all means try this new auction place. It is easy to navigate and doesn't have too many whistles and bells. It took me just a minute to register and I didn't have any problem posting an auction. Now that many of us are looking for a new auction site, why not give this one a shot!

With a name like that I'll certainly give it a try! Why not!

Thanks Craftalley. No wonder I couldn't get in.
BTW, I was searching the catagories that I would list in and found an adult item. I e-mailed them and got a detailed response from a live person in a few minutes. WOW! Of course they may not have much else to do since they don't have many auctions going.

OTOH, If a lot of Yahoo sellers shifted there we could take care of that in no time.

No wonder I couldn't get in last night either!

I went through the site this morning and am not very impressed with how they have their categories set up. I found it confusing, not to mention nothing for what I sell. I realize it's been mentioned that they will add categories upon request but what about drastically changing some around? Pottery falls under Home & Garden which is one of the things I hated about Yahoo - Pottery & Glass should be a category of its own. Nothing is there for Native Amer Arts/Crafts and I wouldn't begin to know where to ask them to put it....

The customer service aspect sounds wonderful but....

Molly... Go ask. They sent me an email of apology for taking 7 hours to move my feedback numbers onto their site. Impressive as YaWho has always taken 48 hours plus for a canned response. They followed other auction setups to build their basics but seemed like the kind of people who listen to logic. If you think that catagory has been wrong at the other sites - let them know. I think the reason they have started this site is because they haven't liked the way other sites were run. We are all talking about wanting a site that we can help build. Good place to start!!!!

Thanks for correcting my mistake I want people to go to this site and see what they think.

Molly they are really good in working with the people that are putting up auctions. They got me 4 new categories in the sporting cards in about an hour. If you don't think they are right ask them they will respond with an email that is for you not something everyone gets.

Again sorry for the typing mistake. I hope more people will test this out and tell people to start going there to either buy or sell. I know I am going to be doing it.

LOL....I guess you folks missed the group of eBay sellers that went to Gold's Auctions to protest eBay's reserve fee. Good luck. I'll see you on Fair Market or back on Yahoo when reality sets in.

Spreland,

The problem with Gold's was that their servers couldn't handle the mass influx from eBay. Sellers couldn't get in to list; bidders who were referred there couldn't get in to browse or bid. A new site doesn't get handled a wonderful opportunity on a silver platter very often ... and they get ONE shot to do it right. Gold's blew it. I wish Pootah all the best of luck and will probably list some items there.

But in general, I do agree that the FairMarket Network is the most viable alternative at this time.

I registered and had a problem posting an item. I emailed the customer service team, received a response within 5 MINUTES and was told that they were aware of the problem and were working on it!
About 1/2 hour later, I received another email saying that the problem had been fixed and that I should try agaoin - it worked.
You can't ask for a faster response than that. Hopefully they will retain that level of customer service!
