Well that was worth the laugh if nothing else. I don't know about a site that crosses out stuff on their auction site though!!!!!! I listed a few auctions there and the site was easy to use - which I liked. Haven't check auctions for bids though. I have been trying to use pootah but this having to take another step (or 15) of uploading my pictures onto Honesty and then add more html is for the birds.

I'd say its a good transition. Leaving the cross-off there for a few weeks is certainly eye catching.
At this point my "favorites" would have to be AuXPal and ePier because I've got HTML "templates" consisting of colored tables for my auctions and both these sites accept them without alteration. Even Yahoo!Auctions stripped some of the tags.
But Pootah has their own blue background which overrides some of my tags, but especially the color tags, so that my listing pages could not be read. So I've had to create a separate set of Pootah-compatible pages using plain HTML. And that's been quite time consuming.
Arrgh. Corrections. Corrections.

Hummmm......How many other people emailed them on this? I emailed them today, telling them that this was scaring off prospective sellers and, consequently, bidders alike. I was also checking out their CS response time with my email inquiries.
So, I sincerely doubt that it was my email (alone) that would cause them to implement this positive change (I don't mind the cross out because they still want to maintain their original idea about PayPal).
Now, however, it's still difficult to ascertain their level of CS since I've not received an email response, yet, to my 2 emails of earlier this afternoon. Not a good sign in my book.
The other problem I'm having with them and BidBay is that my "known" User ID is one letter too long for their systems registration forms. I'm not willing to change my User ID, making it different, depending on which site I or my customers decide to go to. It would just be too confusing. Hey, maybe I should go and try to sign up again and see if my ID fits now, too, eh?

I looked at AuxPal last night and didn't even consider it after I saw the 'paypal only' for payments (I will NOT use paypal under any circumstance) So today when I saw the posts here on AW, I checked the site again- and I registered! I will also be using pootah (which is as cumbersome as Yahoo to list auctions which I do not like) and I will also use edeal. Twice burned, three times shy (eGREED and now YaGREED) I will definitely not use one site exclusively again. Yahoo lied; I won't trust another site again.

Well, good news - AuxPal answered me. They also included a bit of info and said it was okay to take this to the AW board for the rest of you :
[Thanks for considering AuXpal. When the site first opened, we were integrated with PayPal's payment system and even processed automatic payments with them. Since then, our agreement with PayPal has been discontinued for a number of reasons. Our site was even branded a "hoax" or a "scam" shortly after we opened. Thousands of our members now know that this is 100% untrue. (We will be posting information as soon as possible regarding our situation with PayPal and the claim that we were a "hoax". Our legal team has not yet given clearance.)
Although the site states that it is currently a "PayPal" only auction, many members have posted alternative methods of payment. We do not object to this.
In fact, in the next few weeks, there will be many changes to the site including its name. We are in the process of breaking all ties with PayPal.
We will officially become open to everyone within the next week. But, as I've said, there is no objection to non-PayPal members right now.
We will also have the ability to import your feedback from other sites (including Yahoo) within the next week.
Feel free to post this information to whoever you wish including the AW message board.
Thanks again.

AuXpal Customer Service]
I replied to Brian and further asked, if a seller accepts PayPal as a form of payment, will they be able to show this on their auctions to which I'm still awaiting a response. Will let you know.
Additionally, they have made an adjustment to the registration box (for User ID) so that my name fits.

All my questions from AuxPal were addressed last night. At this point in time when, if an alternative site is doing their homework and knows the potential to be realized insofar as Sellers seeking new sites is concerned, it is a good sign. I have to give them a thumbs up for their customer support in dealing with the issues I presented to them.
For your perusal, I am posting their response to my questions:
1) If a seller still accepts payment via PayPal, will they be able to mention/incorporate this in their auctions
2) What will your new name be (for sellers who are currently providing links in their auctions) and
3) What are your future plans insofar as imposing fees on your auctions listings?
1)
Although we are officially breaking ties with PayPal, sellers are still allowed to use PayPal as a payment method. It is entirely up to the seller.
2)
The new name should be in place by next week. All old links to auxpal.com will continue to function.
3)
Our websites are funded 100% by banner advertisers. NoBidding.com (our first site at http://www.nobidding.com) has been operating for almost two years and has remained free. There are no plans on charging fees for any of our services.
