With an exodus of sellers moving to Lycos and other sites I'd like to mention of of the bigest bonus points they have going for them and the only reason I listed there this whole year.
RELISTING!!!!!!!!!
For those sellers who carry regular merchandise and use the auctions sites as their online store re-listing on Lycos is the best thing in the auction industry.
I do not sell unique one-only type items like collectables. I have a distribution channel and sell the same inventory 24/7/365.
At lycos all I have to do is look at the list of all my items that are closed.
Next to each closed item is a check box.
I simply check all the boxes.
And click relist with the original quantity.
VOILA!! Every single item is succesfully relisted.
I never got around to creating bulk loaders since I would have to create a huge file for each site I list on.
Even is you had one of a kind collectables all you would need to do is simply check all the boxes of unsold items and relist them all with a few clicks. Then you are back in the game with minimum effort.
I created all my adds and listings back in february. Ever since then relisting my entire inventory takes 2 minutes. I never had to make new new add this whole year except for the occasional new item I plan to carry.
Now all I need is some more bidders hehe.
I pray that Lycos and or Fairmarket as a whole in light Yahoo's new fee move makes a big advertising push to capitalize on their still free listings. And work to woo Yahoo's and Ebays sellers and bidders.
