I found it interesting when I was looking up the domain names for the Yahoo advertisers I found all five of the makeup stores are owned by Estee Lauder

Here is the list of Yahoo advertisers. I am sending each a snail mail to tell them that I am boycotting their company because of yahoo:

All of the information I found is public knowledge. Domains can be looked up at:

sample:

Registrant:
AuctionWatch.com, Inc. (AUCTIONWATCH4-DOM)
851 Traeger Avenue Suite 100
San Bruno, CA 94066

Domain Name: AUCTIONWATCH.COM

etc.

I don't understand why you are boycotting the company because of yahoo? Do you think the people that manufacture the makeup at Estee Lauder had a hand in making the decision to implement fees? I don't think so. Why alienate the one source of income Yahoo has left? It doesn't make sense to me, but maybe I'm missing something so I'd love to hear your reasoning here.

Maybe when you are a little older, you will understand. In the mean time, I will be boycotting Yahoo sellers and yahoo advertisers - and I will tell the advertisers they have lost my business so maybe they will choose advertising that brings them customers instead of alienates would be customers.

Frist of all its silly to write yahoo advertizers about boycotting there products because they advertize on yahoo cause yahoo wants to charge you to advertize your items there.

Estee Lauder is more then likely paying more then .20 to $2.25 to advertize there items on yahoo you really think they will feel real bad because yahoo wants to charge us less then them to advertize.

Let me see if I have this right yahoo will be chargeing listing fees because advertizeing income is dropping if you bug there advertizers and they do by some odd fate stop advertizeing wont this cause an incress the new yahoo fees ???

Wouldnt it be more in our best interest to see advertizeing income go up for yahoo...

pegasus: Good for you. No more McDonalds at this house because they just made an arrangement with Yahoo. These companies don't know the truth behind Yahoo (and it just isn't their auctions that are the trouble). Unless we refuse to buy from the companies who back the site they don't get the picture. They don't understand that the product Yahoo offers can be found anywhere on the internet and works much better. They only know what they are told by the analyst/investors. How many people have accounts on Yahoo that are inactive? Yahoo's email accounts stink - I can access them once every 5 to 10 tries. Their messenger is worthless and crashes my system constantly, never has scrolled and when I tried to get help with it - the email contained information on running a successful auction site.

You got it! If one is boycotting Yahoo then why would he/she care if they raised their fees. The object in boycotting is to hurt the target enough so maybe their will change their policy. Besides it vents anger...better in cyberspace than on the road! Too much roadrage......vent it on the Net. It's safer!

I have used Yahoo and related services for 6 years! I use all and more of the following: Search, Auctions. Clubs, News (my Yahoo) YIM, YShopping, Calendar, Stocks, Maps, Yellow pages, Quick Launch toolbar......... everything is Yahoo for me. I will slowly ease away from it all. I even link to Yahoo on my clients web sites!

There are other "hubs" out there. Yahoo has been around awhile and made things convienient but gotta go. It was great for awhile, but must take a stand. Even if nothing changes, I tried!

"The Object Of War Is Not To Die For Your Country But To Make The Other Bastard Die For His."
- General George S. Patton

LOL...The quote may be a little harsh for this purpose......but I like this quote. First time I've had a chance to use it!

when you get a little older, you will understand. If Yahoo's advertisers stop advertising, then Yahoo will have to rethink their policies. Advertisers don't like paying for advertising if they are boycotted because of it. Boycotting has worked to get other companies to change their policies so if Yahoo needs to decide if they want to sink or swim. Right now, I'm manning the torpedos and it doesn't matter to me which they do. They declared war, then they should be prepared to do battle. They declared war on my "dimes" and so I am battling their "dollars".

Do you really think YaGREED will drop the auction fees now even IF (which is unlikely) advertising goes up??? When you are older, you will see it doesn't work that way. Banner ads have been shown to be an inaffective advertising method and now that stock prices are more realistically valued, it's highly unlikely that very much advertising dollars will be going towards banner ads or advertising on web portals such as YaGREED. They alienated many people with their move - and it will hurt their advertising income because the people they stabbed in the back are the ones that buys their advertisers products.

You are awfully young - I would guess 16-18??? Give it 10 years and you will understand a bit better how the world works.

forshoppin:

McDonalds is now in the YaGREED "family" ??? I didn't know that. Shame on them - and I was going to go to "Mickie Dee's" for lunch today (not now!)
