THIS IS YOUR ANNOUCER OF THE W.W.3, in laymen terms world war III. between ebay and yahoo, first yahoo starting listing fee's, now ebay raising fee's ??!!!
were will it end,?! i live in a small town little antique shops, real nice area, then a super walmat comes in, then a ryans steak house, then a sonny's barbacue, then !!??
now the little guy, you know the mom and pop shop is out of business, they can't compete with the big sales lower prices. high volume sales !!!
same thing on the internet, a few years back you could make a few dollars, and pay the bills, get your son or daughter, that little something special you couldn't afford before,
now look out it's listing fee wars !!!???
those sellers selling .50 cent and $1.00 items is a thing of the past. no way can you afford to sell at that price, or start even, and the reserve price's thru the roof.
my items are from around $20 to $10,000 each auction. but i now of hundreds of sellers who are selling $1 and $5 items or less, what about them, it is a shame to these sellers, and how hard they worked for a good feedback rating. now what are they going to do. i believe each and every seller is important to the auction house for this reason, their is a wide list of items for each and everyone who wants something on the internet. now the game has changed. i don't know about you, but i see a pattern here developing, and i sure don't like it.
the little man, is swept under the auction rug, never to be seen again...

Today, we are announcing two changes to the current eBay price structure. Effective Wednesday, January 31, 2001, we are increasing insertion fees and adding a charge to the 10-day listing option. Final value fees, other feature fees and insertion fees for vehicles, eBay Premier and Real Estate remain unchanged.
Insertion Fees
Here are the old and new price schedules for insertion fees:

10-Day Listing Option
A new ten-cent ($0.10) fee will be implemented for the 10-day listing option. The three-day, five-day and seven-day auctions will not have an additional fee.
We recognize that price increases directly impact our sellers. The last time insertion fees or final value fees were increased was December 1996. We will continue to build a vibrant marketplace by investing heavily in technology, marketing and customer support to make it possible for millions of people to discover and use eBay.
