The decline definitely continues, albeit, slower during this two-time relist period, and there's still a problem with Yahoo!Auctions reporting incorrect numbers in the Coins > United States category, and an even larger incorrect number in the Antiques, Art, & Collectibles > Miscellaneous > Medals category with Yahoo!Auctions reporting 4,038,840 listings.
That's more category listings than the entire Yahoo!Auctions auction site itself!
Glitches are quickly resolved, but this has been ongoing for several days, and may lead some to conclude that Yahoo!Auctions is choosing to mispresent the actual listing counts.

I don't think all the new buyers Yahoo said would show up from their advertising efforts will make a whole lot of difference if the sellers have vacated the premises. The decline in breadth of selection is certainly going to send many former Yahoo buyers to ebay.

Thanks very much for all of your involvement, and time, in posting stats. I am waiting to see what happens on February 10th, and around that date. When all of the last minute listings, prior to January 10th, with their auto resubs, start closing. Should be veerrrryyyy interrreessstttiinnggg.

The "real" numbers for the coins category where posted for a little while.
United States (17,922) down about 65%
World (25,169) (which includes all coins currently on auction at Yahoo including those in the United States Category). This number is down about 80% so far from Jan. 9th and there are still free relists running, seller's with credits and Merchant accounts with free listings. If this is what has happened what's to come? The fall continues, hope they don't run out of safety nets, it might hurt at the bottom.
