Can anyone tell me is Yahoo! "doctors" their counters? I will list an auction and have a hidden AW counter. After a few days my AW counter shows 3 or 4 "hits" for the item but the Yahoo! counter shows 35 or 43. Just how accruate are these counters anyway?

I use a hidden counter from a different source also. When the counters did not agree, I contacted my secondary source who told me:
1. YAHOO apparently keeps a continuous total of viewers even on relists because they do not change auctions numbers and this means their numbers may be higher. (maybe this will change with us paying for each relist?)
2. YAHOO will not count the seller's hits because it recognizes the IDs and ignores them.
3. My added secondary counter counts every hit - whether it was seller or not.
4. My secondary counter tries to reload its counter to start over every time the auction ends - sometimes successful - sometimes not.

Different counter providers use different criteria for a hit. Some go by unique ID hits within a day. Others count any hit any time.
Whichever counter is giving the higher number is probably the count-all counter variety.
