Well, in a way, I cant wait until my free Yahoo auctions run out. Maybe I will have the same problem on another site but here is the latest dilema. I have a winning bider who wants me to send them a Bidpay BILL before they pay me!! Have you ever heard of that with Bidpay?? I havent!! I have searched their site and cannot find anything on that topic. I emailed them 2 days ago about this with no response. If this is possible, does anyone know how to do this? HELLLP!

Do you offer bidpay as an option? IF not stick to your payment options. You are at a new site, you have to stick to your own auctions guidelines not someone elses. If you sent him a winning letter that's his bill.
I checked bidpay out once to pay a seller in NZ, it would have cost me $5 for the transaction and the seller did not have to be a member for me to pay him that way. It may have changed since then.
I would worry that if you, as a seller sent a bill from bidpay you would get stuck holding the bag. For a buyer to expect you to sign up for something you dont even offer is out of line. I dont offer bidpay, if anyone wants me to accept it, they should do the footwork. I have enough passwords to remember and payment options as it is.

I accept bidpay. there is no bill. All the buyer has to do is provide the auction number, and your name and address. It is a very easy way to pay, even with the $5.00 charge, it is worth it for the convenience, and they do the mailing. They actually mail you a money order, there is no account to have to keep track of.
One note: as the seller, Bidpay will send you two emails. When the send you the second, the money order is in the mail. So do not ship until you at least receive the second email from Bidpay verifying payment sent. Unlike Paypal, there is no chargebacks.
I have also used them to buy an item online, I did not have to run out and get a money order and mail it, and I received my item faster.

sharkbaby, I asked this person if that were true. They replied with Bidpay. Thanks everyone for your great info. I have emailed your info to the bidder today, stating what they had to do to pay with Bidpay. Hopefully I will hear something by tomorrow.
Thanks everyone for your help!

>>>>>What I dont understand is, if you dont have an account with bidpay how do you get the money into your account once you get an email?<<<<<<
There is no account.
Example:
ILIV2BUY has won your auction and must pay you $24.95 including S&H.
ILIV2BUy contacts Bidpay with the auction number and arranges to pay with their credit card. Gives bidpay your email, and address which you supplied to have the buyer send you the money.
Bidpay charges them $29.95, and mails you a money order for $24.95.
First they email you to notify you that this transaction has been placed. Second, they email you again,(usually within a couple of hours) to tell you that the transaction has been verified and your money order is on the way via snail mail.
They do not hold your money in an account like some other payment services do. and as far as the charge goes, by the time you figure you have to go somewhere to buy a money order, pay the postage, envelope and then go mail it. $5.00 does not seem like a big deal. Bidpay even gives you (the seller)the address to ship the item to.
Also, this way there is no, "I put the check in the mail, you must not have gotten it" stories. Everyone has a record of the transaction. You ought to really take the time to check them out.

Jimhhow,
WOW!! Thank you, the money order is sent snail mail from the souce(Bidpay) of the M/O. You can ship before you receive this snail mail with out worry as long as you get the second letter and file it for future refferrence in case it gets lost.
God(or whoever you prefer) Bless you, Now come on back to Yahoo so we can feel safe selling side by side! =) Yeah, I know, kiss your grits. =)=)

Hi everyone! Here is the latest with the Winning bidder who wanted a bill sent. In my auction description, I list accepted methods of payment: cashier's check, money order or a credit card with Paydirect or Bidpay. I also say that I will not accept Paypal payments at this time!
After 4 days of silence from this bidder, what they did they do? Send me a PAYPAL payment! Oh GEEZ, I did NOT want to use my Paypal account and I REALLY do NOT want to accept this payment!!!
Any suggestions????

ask the buyer to find an interpreter who can translate that you do no accept paypal means that they have not paid for your auction yet.

Tell them they should read your preferrences before they send payment beyond what you accept. When ever you are new or even change your name it seems these sorts want to win and run things there way. NOT, it is hard to turn down a payment but you will be happier in the long run. I have had people outragiously run auctions up when I did not accept paypal, they did not honor there bids because I refused to change for them, it's called "read discription before you bid"
We have had auctions open for $2.00, get a bid at $2.00 then that person is outbid for $2.25, Winner sends $2.00 even tho they won for $2.25, I send the $2.00 back and offer it to the person who should have got the item for $2.00. A struggle, but you have to do it to be fair and cyoa, many buyers compare apples and oranges, if I accepted the $2.00 when it should have been $2.25 I could easily set myself up to be put out of business if I give in.

rollantherone, I know what you mean. It has been a week of it. First was a guy who sent a personal check that I sent back after emailing him about his form of payment, restating what I had said in EOA email and referred him to my auction description. I never got a reply from him. check was returned. and now I have this one with the paypal payment, along with 3 non payers!!! WHEW what a week!
Now question is, how do I handle the the Paypal payment. I dont see a way on their site to refuse it. I guess all I can do is ask the buy to recind the payment. I am certainly NOT going to send them back the money in case it's fraudulent! In any case, I dont want this bidders paypal payment. How do I get rid of it?

Paloma, your best bet, IMHO is to tell the buyer that you stated you do not accept this form af payment, and that you consider this a reneg on the auction. Personnally, I would resub the item and flame the guy on feedback. I know he would flame me back, But then I could respond and people would know that I am serious about my terms. I hold up my end, they agree to the rest by bidding.
Of course, the final decision is yours as to what to do RE feedback, or resubmitting.
Have you checked this buyer's feedback?

Thanks so much Rollanotherone & jimhhow! I was thinking that would be one of my options but now I feel it is the right one!
What is happening with the Yahoo bidders?? The amount of items on sales decreases and I get an increase in the amount of problems! GEEZ! I got another two of them this morning!! One, who wants to send payment in 7 days and another one who wants to use Paypal! My auctions ALL state: payment must be received within 10 days of auction close and NO Paypal payments!!!
Maybe a good analogy for this is that the "pond" is drying up so the bottom dwellers have to swim more to the surface! HAHAHAHAHA!!
Thanks again everyone for being there! You dont know how much I appreciate your support! Usually these things would be no big deal but I think being under alot of pressure all week is taking it's toll.

This is the email I sent to the bidder:
Please read the auction's description for the accepted methods of payment. I do no accept paypal payments at this time. Please cancel your PAYPAL payment to me. If accepted payment is not received within 10 days of close of this auction, I will take it as you do not wish to complete the transaction and will be forced to cancel your bid. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
Thank you,
!
