From the Wednesday, Feb 7,2001 edition of the San Francisco Chronicle Page C-2 Article states:
PAYPAL GIVING CREDIT TO IT'S 6 MILLION USERS
Online payment broker PayPal said yesterday that it will issue a secure credit card to it's 6 million account holders through Providian Financial, the nation's fifth largest issuer of MasterCards and Visas.
As Part of a co-branding agreement, Providian of San Francisco also invested an undisclosed amount in Palo Alto's PayPal, which had previously raised about $170 millions in venture capital.
So what's that all about??? Isnt Providian the company that was sued recently for something???? How does it effect us using Yahoo's Auctions or any other site's auctions?

Yep, we got our class action settlement check from them a couple of months ago-overcharging on interest rates and had to refund to everybody. Really a bad company to deal with, we kept ours about 6 months and closed the account. They are nothing but problems, no customer service, I wouldn't use them again for anything, but they call us all the time trying to get us to reopen the account! Real pests>
