Am I the only one getting NO bids???

Where are all those people claiming they were making more money or Yahoo..compaired to Ebay....

... back at Ebay I suspect.

Oh yes its very slow. I have been getting bids everyday but not my usual volume. 80% of my bids are from return customers. No big deal, I expect all my customers to come back for 2nd's. Its the new customers that are no where to be found. Yup I am back doing eBay, doing good there too. 98% sales. Oh well!.

I'm doing great on Yahoo. I had a family emergency so I have not posted on AW as much as usual- AND I really have not had all that much to post about since [almost] everything on Yahoo is going great for me. Those that are doing well just may not have much time or have anything to post on AW about???

I guess it depends on what you sell on how well you are doing. I'm selling as much on Yahoo as I did on eGREED [where I was a qualified silver "power seller"]

I will NEVER go back to eGREED as either a buyer or a seller (and NO, I am not NARU on eGREED) The extortion (reserve) fees and telling the world that their (eGREED) sellers were dishonest was absolutely the last straw. Why would I even want to bid on "dishonest sellers' auctions??? (by eGREEDs own words their sellers are dishonest)
.

Those a$$hole$ actually said that? Why am I back there? People bid on stuff and I sell it there. That's why.

I listed stuff on Yahoo forever. The first listing on eBay is getting nibbles AND bids! Auction sales are really wonky. eBay was running cold for me for a while.

Who knows?!!!

im not getting Rich on yahoo by no means but I am selling .

I seen to be haveing luck useing a buy price people seem willing to bid $2 or so more to closwe auctions with the buy price also I am haveing loads of luck with yahoos free features doubled my hits and sales.

been turning over items from 2 to7 days useing a buy price and featureing.

antique Dollhouse stuff has been very good this month also salt and pepper shakers .

just takes longer to sell on yahoo where you might put up 10 or 20 items on ebay and sell most or all in 5 or 10 days it takes a month or so on yahoo.

NO - YOU ARE NOT THE ONLY ONE. IT HAS BEEN SLOW FOR ME FOR A COUPLE OF WEEKS, BUT MAY BE MORE DUE TO THE ITEMS THAN BUYERS. I DON'T BELIEVE THAT YAHOO IS DEAD. AT LEAST I HOPE NOT.

OK, I posted this exact same thread a week ago and had zero feedback from it. I haven't sold a thing on Yahoo in over 2 weeks, and before that I was lucky to get one bid a week. What is the problem??? I have pictures, good descriptions, reasonable prices, yada yada yada. I sell the exact same thing on what you people call eGreed (and I don't like their fees either) and make a living at it....so what's the problem on Yahoo? I hate to take away from the person that originally posted this thread, but if anyone would like to give some input it would be greatly appreciated by all of us out here with no bids! I would love to leave eBay, but my kids and I would starve and then I wouldn't have time to post on Yahoo anyway because we'd be standing in the food stamp line and clipping coupons! HELP!

Dont know where your problem is inless you are setting the bidder rateing to hight I have had bids and sales of over $400 for the last 6 days mostly new bidders not a dead beat in the bunch so far .

also every item was only listed 4 days or less with the free feature offer .

things sold range from salt and pepper shakers doll house stuff calenders tradeing cards.
average sale $30 some more some less but $30 was the average bid also all sales offered a buy price to close the sale now it really seems to work people want to win now

well Im not saying I have done this all the while this was my frist big month but I have managed to be selling more then one thing every month but Febuary it was a totally dry month .

I am looking to not double what I am selling but looking or aiming for $800 to $1000 a month and have decided that these bids came in part due to my .25 cent a day free features and if im gona spend that per day I may just go and list 50% of my stuf on ebay for the fee and see if I can boost this to a second income so I can have my wife as the buyer full time hehe selling is great but when you work full time the stocking your auctions of 50 to 70 a week or more can be very hard

Let's hope not-- I've done some tracking and Yahoo seems to follow a trend - The middle and end of the month seem to be better- so I prepare my listings and try to load more during that time. Remember- Yahoo does NOT promote their auction like ebay does and it is going to take much more time than folks realize for Yahoo to get their market share -- Last fall, I got evrything but hate mail when I tried to convince some sellers to support Yahoo and do some marketing to their existing customer base. With every item I ship -- I ask my ebayer bidders to check my yahoo auctions and vice versa. It has made a noteable difference. We sellers have the ans right in front of us. Prepare a printed flyer suggesting that we sellers can offer an edge on the pricing since there are no fees - and attach it to your items you ship. It works!

I know what you mean about DEAD! I have used both ebay and Yahoo for about the last year and Yahoo used to really perform well for me. Since about December, I haven't done SQUAT! However, ebay has stayed steady.

I don't know what has happened, but I am adding more items and changing descriptions all the time, but I keep getting auctions close with no bidders (and very few lookers!).

Lately, I use Yahoo more for shopping than selling since most of the things that I look at only have a couple of bids or less.

Just my $.02

Yahoo has been DEAD since early March. I browse in all categories I list in and there have not been bidders for anybody's ads. I do a search every day & go up to the pages with ending times of same time tomorrow since lots of people bid at the last minute. It's about 600-700 per category on a 24 hour search and I only see about 20 bids. These categories had lots of bids daily up until the end of Feb so I have no idea where the bidders went, I'd sure like to know so I can go list there!!!

I moved tons of stuff to ebay this week on FREE listing day and already had 5 bids the next day and 5 more the day after even though I loaded 10 day ads! I've also had tons of page views (hopefully watchlists). These are all items that have been sitting on Yahoo the past 6 weeks and ending with just 1-2 pageviews each. I even paid for Featured ads in Yahoo to try and help sales but even those ads only got 5 pageviews and NO bids. Up until March I had been having 30-50 pageviews per ad and plenty of bids. Yahoo has done nothing for me lately so I haven't even listed there for 2 weeks. I still browse for bidders every day and there still aren't any. I'm not wasting any more time there until I see bid activity reappear.

Lets see... I use both and lets looks at the cost:

Ebay monthly FEE: $43.01
Yahoo monthly FEE: $0.00

God forgive if someone uses Billpoint with anything other then Visa then add 3.5% to that ebay sale. Just becuase you sell the item on ebay doesn't mean it's a better site. Ebay is very expensive and if you don't have a bussiness plan for selling there you will fail. Yahoo is free and all your have to do is slightly alter yout HTML to list the item there also. I stock alot of the same item so I can list them on both sites and I will admit my profit exceeds the fee's that ebay imposes and that's where the money is but you will only help yourself by also listing on Yahoo for FREE and getting those bargin and International customers too.
Yahoo in itself is a great auction site but some of it's bidder's can leave a bad impression. I've bought alot of good items at both sites. I think the problem is that if a seller thinks he/she can simply copy his ad's from ebay to Yahoo and make the same profit they need to do more research as Yahoo requires a slightly more experienced seller to be successful. I like Yahoo becuase it is a real auction "venue" and I can find all kinds of things there not on ebay.

And yes Yahoo bidder's are SCARCE these day's but if you list on both sites you should be covered even if it's not free until Yahoo picks back up for more PURE profit selling.

"Just becuase you sell the item on ebay doesn't mean it's

Are you crazy?

The only reason I list material on ANY site is to sell then darn thing.. don't care if it's free on not (If there are costs from a auction site I build that into my price.. I don't pay fees.. my buyers do).

Who cares if Yahoo is free... and you can re-list five times free? If the thing doesn't sell.. and doesn't sny hits (not that we can tell now anyhow... what does it matter if it is free.

I have items on Yahoo that have been re-listed for months! And no sale... things that I can sell on Ebay in 7 days...

Ahhh-so! eBay is/could/ would be fun and free if my bidders paid the fees! This must be done with the infamous "HANDLING" charges! ;( I am never going back to eBay, as a buyer or seller, ever again. eBay always leaves a bad taste in my mouth ;( and they don't tell me they love me....

My bidders pay all the expenses I have...

otherwise why would I sell? I'd be losing money, and that would be stupid..

Yahoo is not dead.... I just had about a 300.00 week of sales. which is good seeing most my items are under 20.00. and so far not a deadbeat among them. most all sales were to newbies. I gave out the first rateing to eight users this week. I just wish these newbies gave a little feedback back to me...

I don't know if I would call it 'dead', but as a bidder, I frequently have to defend my bids on ebay and watch them closely. On Yahoo, I can just bid, let it sit, and win. I have only had to place a higher bid at Yahoo auctions 3 times out of about 75 auctions I've bid on. I can't speak from the sellers perspective, because I've never ran any auctions on Yahoo.
