Has anybody else received the e-mail from Yahoo auctions asking your suggestions and comments concerning the recent changes and listing fees policy? They said I was one of the top sellers in the category in December.
Unfortunetly they closed my account, cancelled all of my auctions, closed my Yahoo e-mail account, took away my credits for TOS in February.
Maybe a turning point has been reached and they may start listening to sellers now. Who knows maybe a monthly auction fee for unlimited auctions or something like that could happen. I sent a response to the e-mail and recieved a real response from a real person in a timely manner!!
Let's hope that this is positive step in getting Yahoo auctions up and running again.

It's probably another Yahoobot mail, generated automatically because you "were" a "top seller". "Were", the Yahoobot does not realize. It is going by past records, as usual, months behind time. The fact a real person answered your mail, IS a shock. May have been the janitor cleaning up the building, playing with the computers.

No, I was definitely not one of the people that recommended listing fees. I had a low sell through percentage. I did have a high feedback.
Yahoo auctions should have looked at more numbers than sell through percentage. There were quite a variety of sellers at Yahoo in the old days. Some sell lots. Some sell few items. As some one that deals with numbers all day, I now you don't just look at one major number, especially if it is a percentage. I can get a percentage to mean whatever I want to with the "right" set of numbers and spin.
Hopefully Yahoo will go to a variety of seller options to meet the needs of the light and heavy lister/seller of auction items.

I received one of those letters too. I haven't received a responce as I just replied myself. It seemed genuine. I gave him all the info I had gathered from posts here over the past few months, ESPECIALLY how the fees were out of line and that NO real people seemed to work at Yahoo. I'm interested to see how he replies, and just how much, if any, of this means.

ROFWL!!! Good to see someone still has a sense of humor around here. If you go read the eBay Outlook threads, you'll see that ALL THE HUMOR has gone out of their lives (glad they can't physically GET to each other or someone would be dead by now), and you'll come crawling back to the YaWho threads for a laugh now and then!

For those of you who received this e-mail, why not post it over here, with the address, and let every one on this board respond.
I can't get one because when they cancelled my account, naturally they closed my Yahoo e-mail, etc. etc.

I received this one about a month ago, or one very similar asking me for my comments.
I have never listed or sold an item on Yahoooo and I have purchased 5 items in the last year. I made my comments, and never heard a word back.
It's simply a 'bot generated message. The only thing it's missing is the normal "This message has been automatically sent - do not respond to this email address".

It makes just a whole lot of sense to ask NON-SELLERS their opinions of the listings fees paid by SELLERS, now doesn't it????????

Is AW going to be any different?
So what do you all think of AW charging fees starting the 14 March with $.05/listing and 1% FVF for using there systems?
I believe they will be no different then Yahoo and will be no real service unlees they start up their own auction site?
When users are only here for the FREE chat boards, I am sure it will be only a matter
of time before they start charging for this FREE convenience also!
I mentioned this on other threads earlier, but no one seems to listen!
Most everyone is in it for the $$$$!
Where is everyone going to chat then?
Since E-bay and Yahoo are specific and this is the only melting pot I know of for all auction goers? I would like to know where we are all going to monitor activities!
Economy must really be great! Everyone wants more! I wish I saw some of it!

In usenet newsgroups specifically created to discuss online auctions.
Remember, AuctionWatch only provides top page forums for Amazon, eBay and Yahoo, and that's so convenient because their Auction Manager software only works with Amazon, eBay and Yahoo.

Dimview, regarding AW working with only a limited number of auctions - I was never able to get it to work properly period, with any auction site.
AND "IF" one were using Yahoo, you still have to go in and activate the "gallery" picture, so I personally, see no reason to use any submission program for Yahoo that can't put in the gallery program.
No link because I believe there's only one newsgroup relating to online auctions right now and its devoted to discussions relating to eBay.
The newsgroup creation process in the alt.* hierarchy requires a brief comment period in the "configuration" newsgroup, after which the appropriate control message is issued. News servers configured to accept them will then include the new newsgroup in their lineup.
I will take a look at this more closely sometime next week.

warr, Yahoo Clubs has auction related groups. "The Seller Zone" is the biggest. There is also a new Bidville club which is growing very fast.
You can also try alt.marketing.online.ebay
Primarily eBay sellers but you are free to discuss any site or auction related topic you wish since there are no moderator with their nose up your.......

Roy222 - don't feel too bad as I too received the same email in early Jan and lo and behold my account was terminated a few weeks later for an unspecified "terms of service violation". I don't have a copy of the letter because it disappeared along with all other saved emails that I had in my Yahoo email account when I was terminated. I did recall that it was signed by someone named "Jeff Garcia", I called Yahoo and via their menu actually got his extension and spoke to him. He was very pleasant to talk to but the bottom line is that after looking into my case he said that once an account is terminated it is IMPOSSIBLE to have it reinstated and he couldn't reveal to me what rule(s) that I had violated. For the life of me I fail to understand why Yahoo refuses to give detailed explanations for removing auctions and/or terminating accounts (I'm an ebay Powerseller and I've had auctions ended by SafeHarbor a few times but each time they at least told me what rule I was violating - that way I was sure to not do it again).
You are correct, it is absolutely inane to cancel/terminate an account with no explanation - TOS - won't do it as an explanation, as Yahoo has more loop holes in their than Swiss Cheese.
Regarding their care about sellers - it is the same as Rhett's in Gone With The Wind...."Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn."
And the horrors of unexplained, cancelled accounts has continued - accounts, mail, PayDirect, everything gone without warning - and does anyone actually believe they are concerned about you, the seller? If so, I have some beautiful ocean front properly in Arizona for sale!
