I got a Yahoo message that I had an auction question. When I clicked on it, it was someone suggesting that I move to Lycos, as the traffic was better, and it was free. I responded that I did not think what they were doing was very ethical. I'm not a prude, or a Yahoo cheerleader, but it just seemed a little underhanded to use Yahoo to promote another site in that manner.

Yes it has, many times. It's not only spam, but also a violation of Yahoo!s TOS, to use that feature for such messages.

I recently got one in a feedback from a buyer who had won an auction about 6 months ago who put a link to their website in it. Yahoo got rid of it pretty quick though.

As LONG AS YOU DON"T ANSWER THE QUESTION, nobody sees it but YOU.....
But I would still report them to Yahoo, just because it's not a nice thing to do...
Can you imagine how many people are dumb enough to answer and then it's there for others to see.
FEEDBACK is the real nasty one that gets to me...had that happen, and I responded big time.
