I've been posting here on AW since May 1999 and have established something of a reputation in my ability to find old posts quickly... sometimes to other people's chagrin. Ask certain people in the Round Table.
In the case of Ajana's post on the eBay Outlook thread, it was easy. It took approximately 30 seconds.
If you scroll down to the very bottom right of this screen, you will see the words "site search". I clicked on that, chose the key words "yahoo listing fees" and checked the box called "message center". Ajana's post was listed.
A tip when you are doing searches: It really helps to include the poster's name (if you know it) as one of the key words. Unfortunately, the seach results will only show a limited number of results, so the more specific you can be in your key words, the more likely you will find what you are looking for.

"Maybe a little more 'take it with a grain of salt' is called for here. You can't assume an event is going to take place, because someone makes light of Yahoo!'s inability to deal with reality. I fail to find any humor in searching through a thread of that length, based on just a comment, as if it may be fact."
I don't think this was called for. I was merely asking if anyone heard this and whether or not it was true. Excuse me for asking fellow auction posters a question.

Actually, regarding the e-mails that Yahoo sent to some folks about suggestions to improve Yahoo, my take on that is, MORE SPIN & BULL. I think Yahoo merely sent these e-mails out so they could later claim, they did a survey and "the top sellers" are all in agreement with the fees and changes at Yahoo. AND/OR, to do the above, AND to give the few left on Yahoo to feel Yahoo Managment actually gives a darn.

If I was wagering I would give 10 to 1 odds that Yahoo will adjust (decrease) their fees and/or add a free list.
The listings appear to have leveled off at about 5% of previous levels but I notice many categories are still gradually sliding.
Sportscards 540,000 down to and leveling off around 28,500 and now gradually sliding down again. Currently at 23,400+.
This is still with "funny money" credits being used by some sellers. Yahoo Auctions
will approach the point where they will need to replace the expired "funny money" listings with reduced fees and/or free relists just to maintain the dismal 5% level of listings.
(I better make that 50 to 1 that they'll adjust the fees.)

WHEN and IF they do, it will be too little, too late.
The damage is done now, and I don't think it can be turned around. I hope The Fools are really, really proud of themselves and happy with their Auction now that it's an empty shell. There's nothing left to buy, and the bidding is dead as a doornail.
Corporate stupidity never ceases to amaze me, even after watching it for years and years and years.
