You can use http://buzz.yahoo.com - it doesn't show auctions specifically, but it shows what people are searching for on yahoo overall. Click on "buzz leaders" in the upper right corner. Then click on "overall" to see what people are searching for most often.
Right now, the top 10 searches are:
1. WWF
2. Playstation 2
3. Dragon Ball Z
4. Dale Earnhardt
5. Britney Spears
6. Nascar
7. Napster
8. Time Magazine
9. Daylight savings time
10. Formula One
