I have had a few items canceled on Yahoo because they were men's magazines. That I understand. But they also canceled a book about WW II which I can't understand. I haven't been able to reach them yet. Just wondered if anyone has had a similar problem!
I guess I had better hold off listing my Disney books!!

Yahoo is systematically down-sizing their auctions at any cost. They cannot defeat eBay in the current auctions arena, so they are attempting to create a niche auctions site (fast).
They have cancelled the auctions and ID's of many people without so much as an explanation other than TOS violation. A lot of Yahoo Seller's have ended up at BidVille.
To deliberately and systematically 'thin out' Sellers without regard as to the effect it will have on the business of those Sellers in an effort to expedite change for Yahoo Auctions is not a widely acceptable way to conduct business... especially since Yahoo keeps the money you paid to use their site when you violate their TOS. Many people don't realize their credit card will place a dispute on the amount when you've been charged for services not rendered.
Additionally, a complaint filed online with the IFCC is a good idea if Yahoo ran to your credit card and charged you for auctions they had every intention of cancelling two seconds later.
This type of mass casualty was and continues to be unnecessary. It reeks of a communistic mentality.

Hang in there Rem --- soon Yahoo will cut you off too
cuff --- Spot On! And it's not just sellers who are being abused by Yahoo ... it's buyers (like me) too.
Prior to "Yahoo" we used to use word "yahoo" to descibe a certain type of person. Looks like all of "Yahoo" management has discovered the true meaning of the word and they are doing their best to live up to it.
I suggest that those people who still support Yahoo are probably the type of people who enjoy ... ah, never mind (don't want to get moderated)

My experience with getting my auctions cancelled by Yahoo for TOS violations (twice, both times with no explanation of course) is that they cancel ALL auctions that you currently have running, not just the ones that you may think may be "pushing the envelope" so to speak. Perhaps it is easier for them to cancel all of the offending person's auctions rather than just end the specific ones that don't meet their TOS guidelines...

Occurs to me that a listing for a book about WWII might use words like "Hitler" or "Nazi" and/or have an illustration showing a swastika or Hitler's face. Of course any such basis to end a listing for a historical book is utterly silly but stranger things have been seen from Yahoo and Ebay, no?

It's pretty ironic that they're worried about selling nazi items when their business tactics are that of a dictatorship.
