Their was some discussion on this a while ago here on Ebay stores. Well they are now a reality They will be offering links from the sellers page as I thought. Here is part of the posting. I know that thought this would violate some laws since you can not place a link from a non ebay store in the items listing page.
Pricing for sellers will include an initial monthly subscription fee of $9.95 and an initial listing fee of $.05 per listing. Final value fees will range from 1.25 percent to 5 percent, based on the selling price. To encourage sellers to try out eBay Stores, all subscription and listing fees will be waived until September 1st for sellers who set up their Store by August 1st. Normal eBay final value fees will be effective at launch.
eBay will help sellers promote their Stores in a number of ways, including the new Stores Directory, links to the Store from the View Item page of a seller's auction items, and a Stores logo next to the seller's user ID. Each store will have a unique URL for offline marketing, so that buyers can return directly to a particular eBay Store. Seller Search and About Me search will also take buyers to a seller's Store. A seller who opens a store will have the eBay Stores logo in place of the About Me logo, and the About Me page will automatically fill the About My Store tab.

i looked at an ebay store last nite,it reminded me of amzn z shop.
the thrill of ebay is to see something new every day, every minute of the day,365 days a year.
if all these stores leave their items in the shops, either they have zillion of identical copies or just simply they can afford to pay that nickel per month, would it turn into another amzn zshop??
it is definitely not a yahoo style shop,no way they can afford to offer yahoo style shop for 9.95
