Go to ebay. Do what everybody else does and get your fees out of the buyer via a slightly higher than necessary s/h fee.

A lot of the things I'm selling now get the same price on Yahoo as it would ebay, so I'm mainly doing Yahoo now. Even though I am using free credits, I may stick around after they're used up.
The best advice is to search yahoo and ebay for the things you sell and determine which site brings the best bidding and end price. Collectibles generally do better on ebay; practicals do just as well on Yahoo.

Depending on the type of item you sell, summer is often not the best time of the year to judge performance at any auction site, including eBay. Sales are always slowest for me in summer and at their best in December-February.

Good question! Several of the comments above are on the mark. Take an item that you want to sell - research it on all 2-3 of the major sites. Is it already selling somewhere? Be sure to check the closed auctions too - to see what the avg sell price was? Pick the best category for your item. Overall, this extra little bit of research shouldn't take long and you'll gain a wealth of knowledge.
I'm a full time seller - I research items and to be quite honest.. I have some items that sell "hot" on yahoo but "cold" on ebay and vice versa. Takes trial/error sometimes to figure it out. Best of Luck to you!

I sold only on ebay up until the end of May when things went south, at least for my sales. I switches the same items to Yahoo and had a 75% sell through. People are slower to pay on Yahoo than on eBay but for over all profit per batch, I get a better deal using Yahoo. I don't pay to have my pics on line. Their auction creator and loader works every time! And the fees are much more reasonable. Personally, I think there are more and more sellers looking for other sites to list, that Yahoo will rebound and be in the running again for number 2 soon. I agree with the previouse post, try a couple of items on each site and see what works for you.

I've been away for a while and am just getting back at things this past week or so. However, I haven't had much luck on Yahoo, sad to say. Not sure what the problems is. I like the site, but I don't seem to have much luck there. I'm trying a couple of different sites now and will see how it goes until Thanksgiving weekend.
