I was actually thinking of listing on yahoo! childrens' book and pvc toys. This is after looking at my bids ( pitiful) on ebay! I am wondering if the fall out of AFA will affect yahoo? Yahoo looks pretty dead to me but maybe it will pick up?

I had listed 3 items on yahoo that closed 9/12/01. All 3 sold. All 3 bidders paid. I got good prices and am a happy camper. Will continue to list things on Yahoo throughout the holiday season.
suz- I have done very well in the past with kids books on yahoo.

Just a suggestion about listing books. They do ok, but I've had better luck by listing character books in the toys category under character, truck books in the toy-automotive category.
Some mothers don't go hunting for books (alas!) but when a book about trucks shows up while hunting for trucks, they are likely to buy them. I know this is probably not strictly by the rules-but if you can get a parent to buy a book for their kid-hey, the end justifies the means in this instance!

Great advice~I listed about 7 romance ~ one BIN and one has a bid so far ~ I will see how it goes and list a few items per week and see it is better than ebay which is not doing anything so far for me this week !

Bearmom makes a good point, especially since the kids book categories really SUCK on yahoo anyway. Don't the "powers that be" at yahoo have kids? don't their kids read? with a category selection like the that, one must wonder. *shaking head*. Even a separate "vintage" category would be sincerely appreciated as far as I'm concerned.
Thinking back, most of my kids book sales have been like bearmom said- care bears books listed in the care bears category, etc...her advice is sound.

I'm not seeing any change in Yahoo, listings, bids or otherwise because of A4A. The bids are there but there's too many sellers willing to sell items for $2-$5 and that's where most of the bids are at in the categories I follow.
I was hoping that Yahoo might benefit in some way but I'm not seeing it.
AFA is now a non-issue at this point. There's only around 20,000 listings and they are decreasing at the rate of about 100 listings per hour.
