Actually that would be against yahoos rules to list an Item muliple time or in multiple catogorys.
In fact now that they have the meighborhood watch feature if you did this and found it would be closed after only one complaint no questions asked .

Here's the official quote from the Yahoo rule book:

Multiple listings of the same item (also known as "spam" are not allowed in Yahoo! Auctions. Yahoo! defines spam as more than one listing of the same item by the same seller.

Note they don't specify as to diff color etc. but as DMAN said anyone can report you to NW based on their own interpretation of the rule. Ads that get reported can't be resubmited either so most sellers agree the SAFEST thing to do is run them one at a time.

Keep in mind that if someone turns in your ad to NW, you will immediately lose your relists on the item, regardless if someone at Yahoo actually bothers to review these - I think they do not.

So, if you spend an hour loading 10
ads with pictures to Yahoo, and the same person hits 9 of them with NW, you are out 54 minutes of work.

I was wondering, if you rat on someone does the seller know you did it? I see that you have to be logged in to submit a complaint.

Also, what about sellers that have multiple accounts that list the same items? I have found one seller that lists the same item 30 or more times using different accounts.

A different color SHOULD constitute a different item. You should be able to list one of each color or size or make or model, as long as there is some difference in the item. -Rosalinda

JakeThey are not told who turned them in. I have turned in several & my email add is on my About Me page. I'm sure I'd have heard from them if they knew it was me.

My understanding is that sellers are not allowed to list under sep ID's unless they run more than 1000 items at a time. Then they are supposed to take their 1st ID and add a digit to it (seller and seller2 for example) and explain on both about me pages that they have to have sep ID's due to volume & that Yahoo OK'd it.

rnrgroupAs I noted above people can turn it in to NW based on their personal belief it's spam. Everyone does not know the rules so they click away. It's best to make the titles as different as possible since they draw their conclusions from clicking sellers other auctions.

I dont beleave color will make a differnces here you can offer color chooses in a dutch auction .

if you had 50 digtal cameras all different colors running 50 ads would be spam you may not get called on this but you just never can tell

I list stuff as "Lot 1", "Lot 2", etc.

I interpret their rule, at the bottom of the submitting an item page, "Please post only one listing in only one category for a given item." to mean.... "Don't list the same, single item, in different categories so it shows up all over the place."

In other words, my Vampirella comics should not show up in the automitive collectibles, children's books, AND comics categories.

That AND the autographs on the comics, or the trading cards, are all different. So superficially, it LOOKS lika a duplicate item when, in ACTUALITY it is a different and unique item.

That AND I want the bidder to know that I have more than one of an item.

AGAIN this is my marketing strategy. This is the way I want to display my merchandise. Again, Yahoo doesn't have the seller or bidder base to go alienating their aauctioneers. I've said it before and I'll say it again, If this gets to be a pain in the A$$, I'll go back to the local comic shows.

If the widgets are different colors, make that a feature of your listing's title. Blue Digital Camera, Red Digital Camera, etc. These are distinct, unique, and different auction listings. If the demand for red cameras is different than that of blue ones, how can the market make its preferences known in a dutch auction? Impossible!

I don't think you people know what spam auctions actually are.
