Hi,
I wanted to start lising today on Yahoo. I registered and cannot find where my registration code or whatever, is on their confirmation. Therefor I could not get into their chat board to ask where to find it.
I cannot find a place to ask questions. I would like to know if I can list auctions, not subscribe to their money services and use Paypal for my auctions.

Alice,
I'm not sure if I've understood the problem, but I'll take a stab at replying anyway.
If you are registered with Yahoo, you have a user name and a password. You sign in by clicking on "sign in" at the top right of main screen.
When you wish to list an item at auction, you click on "submit item" at the top of screen. You will be prompted for your "security key" which in effect is a different password than your first one.
If you've forgotten either your "password" or your "security key" I think each screen where you are prompted for the information also has a place where you can click to say you've forgotten.
If you want to change your existing password or security key (you have to know what they are though!), click on "options", then click on "my auctions", then click on "edit contact info".

Added for clarity: You need to give both your password (i.e. be signed in) and your security key in order to list.

finaly I made some progress. they told me to wait 24 hours. In the meantime, in order to use a bulk lister, will I have to sign into their banking services? I really got tired of going round and round...can you tell me in a paragraph or two...the difference between wallet and the other one? and why would I use the one or the other?
thanks

actually I can add this if you forget your password your ok Just click forgot password fillin the info they will send the password no trouble.
How ever the security key is a different story.
forgot my security Key once so I thought oh Ill just play it by ear I knew I remember most of it.
Well here is something you should know if you try to enter your security key 3 times wrong Yahoo locks you out of your account in order to get backin to any of your yahoo auction account to list or tranfer direct pay what ever you must call yahoo, they send you email informing you there was three failed attemps to access your yahoo wallet please call us at ******* .
you call yahoo after you wait for the next avalable rep They grill you for every detail about your life they want your birth date your mothers madain name your email address your user ID the last 4 digits on the credit card you used to sign up the billing address you used for that credit card.
At that time they tell you they will email you a temporary security key you must get that temp key and access your wallet within 24 hours change the key to something only you know, You have to do this within 24 hours or the temp key will no longer work and you will need to call yahoo for another.

I am assuming that what you are calling banking services is Yahoo PayDirect. Based on that assumption, Yahoo Wallet and Yahoo PayDirect both use the same password. Also when you signed up for Yahoo Wallet (with credit card), I think you are automatically signed up with PayDirect. However you don't have to accept PayDirect. Just do not list that as one of your payment options. If you use the bulk loader, you will have to specify that you don't use PayDirect because the default is to accept PayDirect. Also, there are no different rules to sell using the bulk lister than listing singly.
I do have one question for you and some information. Just wondering why you don't want to use PayDirect since you use PayPal. Currently PayDirect is free and you can transfer the funds to either your bank account or credit card (I have found that transfers to your bank account take at least a week with PayDirect, but transferring to your credit card or debit card takes only a couple of days). Also many Yahoo buyers have started using PayDirect. I use to run about 3 PayPal payments to 1 PayDirect payment on Yahoo, but that ratio has just about reversed in the last six months.

they finaly sent what I thought was a security code and then a word in some kind of script. I entering each as my security code and they both failed.
From what you are saying, should I just quit trying. I have no intention of going round too many times. And if I know already it is going to fail, I guess I better quit. I have some patience and would like it to work. But if it is futile, why put in more time?

You can transfer your funds to bank account, debit card, or credit card. I don't think you have to register your bank account with PayDirect, but I may be wrong. I normally transfer my funds to my checking account, but do transfer once a month to my credit card to pay my listing fees after they have been charged.
