Is it possible to have a sale of our own, as sellers are a group, at Yahoo auctions without a real "banner" on the front page (like the 99 cent Showcase, for instance)... does anyone know?

I'd like to get a group of folks returning to Yahoo Auctions after 11/20 together and run a sale (we all sell by the same guidelines such as deadlines, starting prices, no reserve...you know the routine)...

Anyone know if this is against the TOS at Yahoo? If it's not, anyone here interested in joining me? If so, please leave your email here, and I'll get it because I'm alerted when answers come to this thread.

Thanks in advance,
FQAuctions

You could probably have a sale because there are only robots at Yahoo Auctions and the robots don't care much about anything, other than sending out the wrong canned responses.

Am interested in as sale. would it help raise a feedback? I have none of that over there, because I never sold there before. Also, how do I get a counter at Yahoo?

You get a free counter at Yahoo on every auction. It doesn't count you as a visitor either.

I sent this to Yahoo just now. Speaking of canned responses, I'll report on the silly response this will surely generate in about 3 or 4 days from now:
---------------------------------------------
"I have completed 23 Yahoo Warehouse transactions, the firt one being on 11/06/01. Yet my rating is -1. I got a bad feedback for a $5 computer game shipped in a jewel case which according to the buyer, the jewel case got cracked in shipping. Apparently the game was ok because they didn't say anything about refund or replacement.

So why do I have a -1 rating? If you are not getting buyers to d anything else but complain, shouldn't you be giving me an automatic + after a period of time to complain expires?

My -1 does not look good to potential buyers. The fact is, I'm very consciencous in my work and if you look on the Auctions side, my Yahoo rating is over 1500.

Now that the internet party is over and you must make a profit so that your stock options get vested, don't you think my sales and your commissions would improve if I had a positive rating as deserved, rather than a negative one?

I'll tell you that so far, Yahoo Warehouse sales suck compared to Half.com, where I have half as many listings and 10 times the sales."

this is a cool sale, the more the merrier
new sellers can at least get some feedback by buying a few items real quick, bet the sellers would appreciate the biz LOL
if you have feedback at another site it's fine with yahoo if you put the icon & link from www.feedbacksite.com
they have a very liberal links policy..read about it at www.auctionguild.com latest tagnotes newsletter

Timetravellers: You ought to apply for a job in Yahoo customer service. You are a natural and wouldn't need any training whatsoever.

Yahoo may welcome the www.feedbacksite.com logo but ebay sure doesn't. Try using that logo on ebay and your auction will be ended and a stern warning given. Of course, the owner of the feedbacksite.com ( also the owner of Bidville auction ) does not care if your auctions are closed at ebay and will not even let you know it is forbidden to post the logo on ebay. That speaks volumes for the character of this person.

The feedback you earn at eBay is owned by eBay. Even posting it at the feedback site is a violation of eBays TOS.

Hey,thanks i think?LOL i swear i am going to do a booklet & sell it really reasonable to help new people..the rules change so fast,if you aren't on a message board,or take newsletters like tagnotes you are a babe in the woods..have no clue..Can waste all your time, almost lose your biz because you just don't know better.
i try to help everyone,of course people just do not read,or even click help or site map to learn a site!that is the key..One of my customers with 100 feedback at ebay had never heard of the"my ebay"page for all her stuff, felt bad also that many of her feedbacks she'd left had "no responses"below, was upset about it.i had to explain it..they just don't understand how it all works....A little old lady was selling stuff for like 2.00 each,i met her online, she was buying labels, tape & boxes for her stuff & was shipping priority MAIL..
.i told her where to get them free order online inc pre printed labels!
she had been buying the supplies for two years..hardly making a dime because of it..she was so happy..~~~~
YAHOO MUST MAKE
the auctions home page & site friendlier to new people or they have no chance. How would a new person click to find their favorite seller?(no problem at ebay see top bar,,great design..,,at yahoo..they must click on tiny text advanced search link,,then seller by id..THEY WILL CLICK OFF WAY BEFORE THAT& we all lose sales!GGRRR)
yahoo support would be a lonely job as looks like that office is manned by robot emails..& that is hurting them..it's very dissapointing to me thanx (yes i could train the robots only because i read the instructions..
PS RE FEEDBACK SITE..Yes they should let people make to decision based on each sites rules...prime example how would a new person know it's ok at yahoo,& others, but not at ebay..
they are flying blind...also i would love a lawyer to dispute who owns that feedback..morally wrong..WE EARNED IT.!!no matter what the tos say..would be an interesting case.HEHE
