This might be old news to some, but I was checking out the announcement board of found a Yahoo survey. It has an intrigung question.

It asks, "Limit the number of items a seller can list until they reach a certain level of positive ratings. The higher your rating, the more items you can list."

This does raise some questions. For truely new people, I don't think it will be a problem because I think we all go into the selling aspect causiouly and tend to list lightly until we get the hang of it. By then, those sellers should have a feedback that allows them more leeway in the listing system. Also, we also know that low feedback tends to shy bidders away as many do not like to take a chance they could get ripped off, making the higher feedback even harder earned.

The drawback is that someone could go in and buy up a bunch of 10 cent auctions or even sell a bunch of 10 cent auctions just to pad their feedback.

I guess I would welcome a trial period to see if a system like that would work and make Yahoo even a safer place to do business.

Check it out, it also has some good ideas on how to confirm new people and a feedback percentage idea.

Don't like the idea of manditory Yahoo Paydirect, but that is why it is a survey, to be able to voice your opinion to the company.

Here is the link to the survey.

The big rumor is yahoo will be allowing overseas auctions on the main US site in the near future. That question was on the survey. I hope everyone uses the survey because yahoo is trying to make the site better.

They already tried volume limits over a year and a half ago. It was based on your sell through rate not your feedback. It quietly died soon after.

It was something like 150 items a month (my limit at the time) I could list/sell..............the 2 free relists counted towards that total and it got lame.

Why they would try that again I don't know.
