I listed the same item this week on Ebay & Yahoo at the same price.
So far the Yahoo item has more lookers, that's by AW's counter not Yahoo's.
No bids on either.

When I list an item on Yahoo because it failed to get any bids on ebay I sometimes raise thestarting bid by a dollar as I know there is little chance of a bidding war of any kind. Very often the item sells on Yahoo at that higher price.

Another thing that may help yahoo is their changes to paydirect.

What changes to Paydirect? Something recent?

The new paydirect is free if a user sends money with a bank account or account balance. It only costs money now if they pay using a credit card.

Only partially true BW. The setup at PD is now identical to Paypal.

There are personal and business accounts now at both places ,whereas before there was only a business account at PDirect.

To use Paydirect before was very simple and carefree and even better than Paypal because the seller got to accept or refuse payment and that cut do on the hassles of improper payment amounts, accidental double payments, refunds, etc.

Now with Paydirect the seller will have to choose which type of account to have and since most Paydirect payments come from a credit card they will have to reject most of the payments made to them via PD unless they have a business account. Like Paypal sellers with only a personal account, those sellers will have to modify their auction TOS to explain the limited use of Paydirect payments and will be emailing buyers a lot and explaining why they can not accept their electronic payment.

I found it a heck of a lot easier to merely upgrade to a busines account and not have all of the hassles of a personal account. And a business account is exactly where we all were before.

At least there is an option for those sellers that do not mind the work and limitations of a personal account.

I didn't see any lowering of fees in the many payments I've received since the changeover. Do you have a link on that new fee policy?

Sorry tooltimes I meant the lower fees due to the free account. I think paydirect will come into play when yahoo gives ebay a run for their money, and it will happen someday. Yahoo can use paydirect to compete with ebays paypal

BW, I personally think that Yahoo Auctions never has any chance of giving ebay auction a real run for their money but I feel that Yahoo Used Goods could certainly give Half a run for their money if they promoted it a little more. There's a huge difference in a 10% commission versus a 15% commission.

Soon all of the Half items will be fully integrated into the ebay search engine. Yahoo must follow suit and do the same exact thing. Shoppers shouldn't have to go to Yahoo Shopping and select either Auctions, Used Goods, Classifieds or Shopping or simply "Shopping Only". Why can't all of the results come up every time?

Sooner or later Yahoo will make more smart moves or copy ebay as much as possible.
