I notice other Yahoo auctions have two or more photos. Why can't I ever get more than 1 on my auction? I'm using AuctionPro. If you list an auction directly on Yahoo does it allow more photos? What the heck?

Yahoo allows 3 photos per ad. I have only input mine direct into Yahoo so I don't know how it works from auction software or websites.
You upload the pics into Yahoo straight from where ever you saved them-desktop, my documents, photosuite software, scanner program etc. You never need a photo host so I've never used one except for eBay ads.
I've heard a Paypal or other logo counts as a photo in Yahoo but I don't know if it's true. I generally use 1 photo and my Paypal logo so I haven't tested that rumor.

I have the same problem! AW says the Pay Pal logo doesn't count with Yahoo! But I tried to launch an ad via AW with: 1PHOTO + 1 PAYPAL LOGO + COUNTER +AW LOGO and it returns error saying too many photos! I'm stumped! I think wahat ya have to do is launch without your photo and then go to Yahoo and ADD the photo after the launch: which is a PAIN! PLEASE AW HELP!

Tom,
Since Yahoo shows you the # of pageviews you could leave off the AW counter unless you want it public for some reason.
The easiest thing would be to leave off the Paypal logo, then you have 2 options:
Go to Paypal and have them auto-insert your logo in all your ads at the same time OR (what I do, might sound complex but it's easiest & quickest to me) I keep all text that is the same in every ad (HTML codes for font size, color centering etc plus my terms) in an email draft. I went to Paypal once and copied the manual insert method into that draft. Now when I run an add simply copy/paste my commands, terms & PP logo from the email draft then all I have to do is insert 1-2 sentences for the item descrip.

kasmoon: Thanks! but the AW counter is hidden (good!) and I can't figure out how to eliminate it from my ad (bad)! If I could do that then I could have my photo+PPay+Aw logo (which I guess is mandatory if you launch from AW) and it the ad would then work!
ANYBODY know how to NOT include the counter?
THANKS!

Tom,
I've only used AW to feed photos to my eBay ads. The choices are send photo only or send photo and counter.
If you post your question to the Msg Center board titled Auctionwatch.com services you'll probably get a quick answer.
I have several auctions on Yahoo! now and uploaded my photos directly to Yahoo!. Check the size of your photos.....they only allow a TOTAL of 1.5mb for ALL pics. If yours are too big, try to reduce them in your photo program on your computer! Hope it helps!
I don't know how it works between AW software and Yahoo auction, but I DO know that if you want to have a thumbnail photo of your item on the listing or search results page when someone clicks "show only photos", you have to upload it directly onto your Yahoo auction (the FIRST one becomes the thumbnail).
If you upload a second and third, they will be right below the first one on your listing, above your description. So if you want them to FOLLOW your description instead, you need to write in the URL for their host location(s) in your description box.
Logos from PayPal, PayPlace, etc. count as an image, as do counters (except Yahoo's).
Whether uploaded onto the auction listing itself or linked in your description box, Yahoo only allows a maximum of 3 images, for a total count of 1.5 mg.
You can write the html for your referral link to PayPal in your description (making a "hot" word or line to be clicked on) if you can't get the logo in. Or you can write html for your extra photos links with a line like "CLICK HERE TO SEE ADDITIONAL PHOTOS". Done this way they don't count as part of your 3 allowed images.
