Anyone getting tired of creating new ways to let yahoo know - WE CAN'T LIST? Why don't we all email them for a "Can't list" email address and request an Announcement Board? This gets kinda dumb coming here all the time commiserating on a problem - and wondering when or if it will be fixed. How do y'all actually REACH someone at Yahoo?

This is the second day I can't resubmit or list - and it is making an impact on my income already.......

I just went in and did 3 relists and it worked, but they are not showing on my auction list even after reloading.

I've also not received 4 end of auction notices for auctions that ended quite a while ago. All the others came in that closed at the same time, but 4 are still missing in action.

The auctions and pictures showed up within a few minutes, but the EOA's Never showed!

Folks, check in your closed auctions on July 5th. I found 3 sales in there that I had never received the EOA from Yahoo on.

YES, YES, YES - Yahoo needs an announcment board!

2nd I ALWAYS check my closed auction list because I have found often I don't receive a notice from Yahoo. ALWAYS keep an eye on your closed list...

BUT let us not complain too much - Yahoo is FREE, PTL!

I agree. Can't fuss. It's free. And that is Christmas all year round, especially for lil folks like me. It's a godsend. Finally starting to make a little profit and get back on my feet after being nickled and dollared to death on ebay.

I have a question. I've noticed on some of my auctions there is 1 bid, but that bid is higher than my starting price. What's with that? Does Yahoo not do the proxy thingy? Does it just take the bid regardless of the amount as long as it's the starting price or better? Puzzled Grapey.

Hi Grapey
Bidders have 2 choices--proxy, bid up to this amount OR straight bid, bid exactly this amount.

The exact amount bid option is for 2 reasons
1 bidder is trying to meet a reserve but no one is bidding against them
2 When the buy price is higher than the opening bidders can meet it to close it & win right now.

If you don't have a higher buy price or a reserve then your bidder was simply confused. If they win you can hold them to it or give them a break--nicely explain their error and sell for the minimum.

Thanks kasmoon--Boy, I can really see this causing confusion for the bidders. I don't think I like this straight bid option thingy too much

I didn't have a reserve or a buy price on it.

Heygrape,

I've occasionally had people "bid this exact amount" for MORE than the necessary amount (instead of "bid up to this amount on my behalf), and it DOES put the seller in a dilemma if that's the auction's final bid.

You assume the bidder was confused and intended to place a proxy bid in case another bidder comes along, but the higher bid in place on the auction MIGHT keep others from bidding on it who would have bid otherwise....so I'm reluctant to offer it to the bidder for the lower price (as long as the item is WORTH what they're paying).

If your bidder's bid amount is UNREASONABLY high, you can offer the item for less and/or give free shipping. When you do, the bidder will be VERY GRATEFUL to you (I know from experience) and you'll get nice feedback for the sale.
