Good evening all. I'm working on a new template for some cross stitch leaflets and books I plan on listing soon (gotta pay off a transmission!) and am stuck! I wanted to put a picture of the front cover in the auction (easy) and also include a link to show the other designs that are included. That way the auction will load quickly and those who are interested can see all the designs included.

I just checked with my ISP and even though I pay nearly $30 a month for only 100 hours and cannot connect faster than 26400bps they feel the need to charge another $36 a year to host a web page! I am so ticked! Boy do I wish I had a choice but I'm stuck in the boonies. So, any ideas? Most of the freebie places are cracking down on remote loads and AW won't let you do this. Help!

IBStitchin,

You need to make a Yahoo!/Geocities HOME PAGE to host your photos!!!

Go to your Yahoo account information (when you're logged on to Yahoo Auction, click "Account Info" at the top right), sign in, under "Yahoo! Geocities:" create yourself a homepage (follow the instructions), then upload your extra photos onto your Yahoo/Geocities page. They give you 15 mg FREE with EACH Yahoo user name you have, and the FTP program is built in to make it EASY (you can upload as many as 20 photos at once).

The URL for your page and photos will be

http://www.geocities.com/YOUR USER NAME/YOUR PHOTO NAME.jpg (or gif)

so your link in your auction description for extra photos will be something like

<A HREF=" http://www.geocities.com/USER NAME/PHOTO NAME.jpg " TARGET=new>CLICK HERE TO SEE CROSSTITICH DESIGNS</A>

Hope that helps!

Oh geez. I feel kinda silly now. I knew most of the free web site hosts were cracking down on the remote loads but forgot that Yahoo had one. I suppose they would allow that! Thanks!

I just checked and Yahoo! also allows you 25mb for a photo album. Do any of you use this? Does it work well? I'll see if I can get it to work later today after I have all my pictures loaded. Thanks!

Lora

hmmm looking over it again I'm not sure if it would work or not. Seems like you would get the entire album and not just certain pictures. I'll let you know what happens!
